Saints Training Camp Updates: Day 7, July 31st (1 Viewer)

If the Saints are feeling like Young isnt just a one year player and fits in with them for the long haul, i think he can be what elevates this D back to elite status. I can see the other guys rallying around him in a similar manner they did CJGJ and Kwan Alexander. You add in Willie Gay flying around and Pete Warner competing hard, good things to come. Lock down Alonte looks like his game improved since last year and Kool Aid waiting in the wings, this D is looking deep again.

I think he's a Z, not an X. He excels at creating separation to make catches, while MT couldn't get much separation and had to body his way to catches.

We didn't complain about MT never getting much separation and mostly being fed by great accuracy from Drew, did we?

Different types of receiver, both can be great. No need to force the comparison IMO.
i think you all just witnessed elite CB play, look how Alonte mirrored Olave. Id say that also due to familiarity more than Olave can beat press man coverage. (at least i hope not!)

Nick’s camp summary from today said Carr was “sacked” on 6 of his 14 drop backs today. That is very abnormal, needless to say, and has me feeling more like we have a significant OL issue brewing as opposed to us suddenly finding an awesome unstoppable pass rush.

Hopefully this is just growing pains with the new system, but it’s something to keep an eye on.
I love it for them. It was 2011, Saints vs 49ers in pre-season. We blitzed them like crazy, sacks and QB hits galore. 49ers used that to go back and add blitz beaters and hot routes to all their plays and eventually beat us that year.

It’s better to have your weakness exposed early so you can adjust and or simply get better.
