Saints Training Camp Updates: Day 7, July 31st (2 Viewers)

Aiyuk is the only guy who makes sense at the moment. We need someone other than Tipton to start flashing. Considering we were down three WR’s today its alarming that we still didn’t hear anything about AT Perry
Does he accept monopoly money?

If we’re being honest, I don’t ever see Olave being more than average at contested catches and it’s because he only has a 32inch vert and 31 inch arms.

Football is a game of inches.

Conversely, someone like Aiyuk, same height has 33inch arms, and a 40inch vert. I’m betting those extra inches gives him the ability to get to, catch and secure passes quicker b4 a hand can disrupt the play.

I do think he can unlock more RAC in his game. Don’t think Payton’s scheme was well designed for that and they didnt try to get him the ball on those plays either.
He's never going to be making guys miss/breaking tackles. RAC improvement will have to come by play design getting him open.

Had a conversation with a South Carolina alum that went to most of their games and diehard Falcons fan last week. He told me point blank there is no way Rattler will be kept off the field for long, or at a minimal, shine and be our backup since Carr is the one getting paid. He even said we got the better rookie QB between him and Penix. He says Rattler was just in an awful situation with an awful OL, and it has led to his abilities being WAY underrated.

This guy was no talent scout mind you, but it just kind of reinforced some of the things we have heard about him from actual experts.
What Drew me to him was his ability off PA. To me he was the best PA QB I looked at early, granted I didn’t pay attention to any other QB after laying eyes on Rattler.

I was stoked when we got him, had just come back from adopting a cat. Named him Spencer the moment I opened my phone and saw we drafted him.

My GF was worried my Blood Pressure would go up I was so ecstatic

We can make the money work if we want it to happen. The problem is it seems like the team is indeed actively trying to rein it in a bit on that front, likely preparing itself for its next phase.

But indeed, if we want Aiyuk in 2024, our people can make it happen.
If getting Aiyuk meant not being able to retain Adebo, would you?

If getting Aiyuk meant not being able to retain Adebo, would you?

Yes, only because I’m comfortable with the guys available to replace him along with the added bonus of the possible third or fourth round comp pick we’d get for him if we play the comp game properly to retain it.

Chase Young just looks “different.” I know he hasn’t lived up to the hype yet in his career, but appearance wise, he looks like a player we have no business having since we are never picking that high.

Say what you want about his play, but there is no denying that he at least LOOKS like a superstar, former #2 overall pick DE.

Yes. A horse jumps. A frog leaps. I feel like the leap is bigger.

Feelings aside. Let's consider the facts.

The world record long jump was set on April 26, 1975, by a horse named Something ridden by a Mr. Andre Ferreira. This pair jumped a distance of 28 ft.

At the 1975 Calaveras County frog-jumping contest in California, USA, a member of this species, named "Ex Lax", Leapt 17 feet 6 inches

Participants entering the longest-jumping frog were to win a $750 prize, or $5,000 if their frog were to break the 1986 record of 21 feet 5+3⁄4 inches, set by "Rosie the Ribeter."

While the word Leap may Feel bigger than the word Jump, it appears that when comparing Horses to Frogs it's just the opposite.

Now wouldn't it have been Something had Rosie taken a dose of Ex Lax before Leaping. She might have Leapt a little Farter.
