So, apparently, the woman involved recanted. At least that what it sounded like from CNN reporting.

In New York, a victim cannot drop charges for domestic violence. This is because of the frequency with which victims recant because of fear or co-dependency. It will make prosecuting harder, but if it happened in a cab, then there's a witness for prosecution to interview, and if she had injuries, and a witness testifies there was an altercation, it doens't matter if she recanted or not.

This is intended to combat the form of Stockholm Syndrome many abused women have. So she can't prevent charges from being filed and if there is in fact video they won't even need her testimony.

I wonder if they used the video to get her to recant, and once the DA sees it, they decide to drop the case? Curious whether they'd try to make the video public to clear up what happened.

So, just for instance, what if there was a video showing that what she said wasn't true, they showed it to her or told her about it, she wanted to recant because she lied, they show the video to the DA, he drops the case because the charges aren't true. What happens to the female that falsely accused him?

This is what I was alluding to when I said more stuff was coming out about Majors. It isn't just Allen either... there is a fair amount of dislike for him in the theater community apparently.

I hope it isn't true and he's actually exonerated, b/c I loved his performance as Kang (I thought the actual writing has been lackluster but not his fault). But if it's one of those deals where he pays her to be quiet and she refuses to testify and the case gets dropped due to lack of evidence... man, I don't think I can watch anything with him in it.

The texts show there was a fight (she says it's her fault because she grabbed his phone). There were visible wounds on her, and she did pass out from the fight (but totally not because of strangulation), and he had to call 911 because she passed out.

Once I knew the police saw a full video of the incident and they still charged him I knew he was in a bad spot. They don’t want that kind of publicity unless the video clearly shows he was in the wrong.

So it's been over two months since Quantumania was released and some fans are still ripping it another new one. This time, it's on comments from the director on why the role was recast again after Endgame (which I thought was explained already). Seems fans are not a fan of Kathryn Newton's role at all.

I haven't either. I planned to, but just haven't gone to see any movie lately other than Top Gun. When you can just wait a month or two for streaming, not nearly as motivating to get to the theater.

Tbh, streaming has changed the game in terms of my theater going habits.
