Shedeur Sanders will not work out for teams at combine (32 Viewers)

So you're going against every major media outlet that has him going in the top 10.

I don't have a horse in this race, but I suspect you could have made a very similar statement pre-draft re. Aaron Rodgers. He was slated to go pretty high, likely the second QB chosen after Alex Smith, but instead sat in the green room on draft day until pick 24.

I think the difference is then if you drafted a QB that high you had to pay outlandish amounts to sign them. Now with the Rookie scale and the rule changes being QB friendly to the point its hard to find success without a QB teams are more willing to draft QBs even if they have big question marks. Theres been a lot risk taken on Raw QB last 4 or 5 yrs

I'd bet he will go in the top 10 if not the top 5, but that's probably more a reflection of the value of QBs and the lack of QBs in this class. I'd take Ward over Sanders by a good bit.

Plus, most places think that both Ward and Sanders would be ranked behind the top 6 QBs taken in the draft last year so both would rank somewhere between Nix at #12 in the 1st round and Rattler at #150 in the 5th. So while Sanders likely will go top 5, he probably shouldn't and wouldn't if this were a better draft class for QBs. I'm guessing that last year he would have been a late first or early second round pick.

It certainly happens. We saw it with Will Levis and Malik Willis a few years ago. Everyone had thought for almost a year that Levis would go high in the first and Willis shot up the media boards after the combine with most having him as a mid-to-high first round pick. Levis ended up being the first pick in the second round and Willis went in the third round.

Everything depends on what happens before the draft. What changes are made to get down to cap compliant. Who, if anyone, is released before free agency. Who, if anyone, is brought in during free agency. There are just so many things we don't know yet. Could they take a QB at 9? I think it depends on who was there and what their grade on the player is. I'd hope they won't draft a RB at 9 with so many holes elsewhere.
If Jeanty is Barkley 2.0, you take him

Don't bring facts into this equation, buddy.

Granted I don't keep up with football as much as I used to...but I will be very surprised if he goes in the top 5
You might be right, as the latest stuff from reputable people like Daniel Jeremiah has him slipping over the last couple days. DJ dropped him to 15 overall.

But my guess is still that a QB needy team will come get him.

Most likely. I just know that a top 5 pick is very valuable and QB is probably the biggest position gamble out of all of them. And without looking at the numbers...I would say QBs taken in the top 5 rounds over the past 20 years were not as successful as people might think they are. And finally throw in some of the drama surrounding him (not to mention teams not knowing if he will pull an Elway or Eli), he may fall further than expected.

With that being known now, do you think the Saints will meet with him? I think it could be a possibility we draft him depending what Kellen Moore wants to do, but long term, does Rattler have enough to be the future QB of the Saints? I know Rattler seems to have some raw talent, but I think Sanders would be a better fit for us. Maybe if Sanders was the route or Jeanty, I wouldn't be too disappointed.

We will probably lose both Carr and Hill so I think either QB or RB has to be top of the list for our first pick. I would not want to trade up for Sanders, but if he or Jeanty is there, it has to be the pick for us right?
Less than 5% chance the saints draft him. For one, he may not even be there, for two, he isn’t worth the pick. I just can’t imagine KM looking at him and saying, yea, that’s who I want to tie my career to.

I really don't get the hype with this dude. If his last name wasn't Sanders, he would not even be considered a first-round pick let alone top 2 pick IMO.
Jaxson Dart has a very good opportunity to further showcase what he can do while at the combine. He will jump into the top 10 if he has a successful time there.
I’m a diehard LSU fan, so it pains me to say this. Dart will have the better career of the two if BOTH go to teams that are good fits for the players, Dart will end up having the better career.

Even though Sanders may not throw at the combine, there still is an upside if he does show up. Coaches can see how he interacts with other players and they can also interview him to ask about his football knowledge and maybe get some insight of his character . I watched a lot of his games this year through my cable package and he's a great athlete but not a disciplined QB. I don't see the hype or why the Saints would even consider drafting him in the first round. We have bigger needs and he's not a franchise QB in my opinion.

We'll see but I doubt it. I don't have a horse in this race but this isn't Aaron or even the more recent Levis or Malik Willis situation. He has been on scouts radar for a while now. Cam and Sanders will probably go in the top six picks and that's not just me saying that.
Also, people may not think much of him but QB is still a premium position and there are several QB needy teams in the top 6 including LV ,Cleveland, Tennessee and the Giants. Unless, Stafford and Cousins are traded I doubt those guys slide past six.
