Just as Brees is entitled to his opinions on Gitmo, Duncan is entitled his opinions on Drew's opinions. However, that doesn't change the fact that my opinion of Duncan's opinons is pretty low.

I did bring this up but I don't think he should apologize, it is his opinion and like I said we are still free for the time being, I just think he is a complete prick for writing this article the way he did. The guy goes out of his way to support the troops as much or more than anybody else I know and he has single handedly basically saved the saints and brought the city together, and this is how he is repaid. Way to show your class Jeff

As far as I can tell Jeff has heaped as much praise on Drew as anyone.. prolly more than anyone else... this almost seems like a joke..."free for the time being" ... this is EE board at best... how is it that we are in danger of losing our freedom?
Are we gonna censor the media? That jumps out real quickly in your sentiment--- entirely my opinion

I live only a few miles from Monticello, the former home of and the final resting place of Thomas Jefferson. I'll have you know that the minute I read this tread I heard a ghostly cry from that general direction shouting "Just what were we fighting for?!?" I've also heard from a friend of mine who lives near the grave of Patrick Henry. He said at that same moment there was a bone chilling roar of anger and a mild earthquake. I'm still waiting on conformation of a report that cherry trees within a five mile radius of the final resting place of George Washington having mysteriously withered and died.

Congratulations on upsetting the spirits of our forefathers.

Duncan sounds like a crybaby, mad that Drew has a different opinion than his. Bad pass? Uh, what the hell does that mean?

Don't you think that travelling to Afghanistan and Kuwait on USO tours may give Brees a perspective that a sportsjournalist like Duncan may not have. That said - they are both allowed to voice their oppinions.

No, because the piece in question was a fairly written piece.

The only bias there is what the reader brought to the table.

"Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear."

Duncan wrote a sensible piece with an appropriate and resectable tone and has a legitimate disagreement with Brees. Many reasons can be elucidated as to why Gitmo should be shut down, regardless of how the prisoners there are treated, but both Brees and Duncan are entitled to their view on the matter, as are the rest of us.

I didn't think the article was fair to Brees. He basically implied that Brees was uninformed. I think Duncan should have discussed the issue with Brees before slamming his comments in that article. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the only one who got to explain their side in that article was Duncan. It was a classic gotcha piece.
