Neither Duncan NOR Drew got political. That's my point.

IMO, Duncan got political. Drew was giving his opinion based on viewing the camp and was supporting the troops. Duncan brought up a whole bunch of other stuff. Again my opinion. I was shocked when I read the article. If he was going to go there, the article would have been better done in the news section, not the sports section and by a news reporter, not a sports reporter.

While I didnt like the article -- and would agree with Drew Brees in his assessment its Duncan's right to come across as boneheaded, dead wrong and an idiot --

Well to us Mil folks.... I see nothing wrong with this.... problem with ppl who dont serve or never have (not taking shots at anyone but making a point) is that you dont know the pulse of the men and women who have to deal with VERY VERY bad ppl around the world so when you attack a guy for saying something that he was brief on by the Troops on the ground, then your just hiding behind that big moral blanket that gets troops killed because its not ethical or moral..... now that i ranted... i fight for this guy to have an opinion, I just HOPE he understands what that means....

IMO, the prison at Gitmo should be shut down. No matter how the picture is painted these days, there were some TERRIBLE things that happened there, so bad that the gov't won't even release the photos.
It's become a black eye for America and should be put in the past.

Duncan can say whatever he wants. Drew knows that by putting himself out there on these types of issues, there are bound to be factions that disagree with him. I'm sure he's okay with that. He's a grown man.

Exactly. How would it look if Brees, who was probably invited by the military, to go there and then said 'they tortured people here, shut it down!'. In fact, many people now feel that Gitmo should not be shut down. IMO Drew was showing support for the troops, that's why he was there. Duncan should back off.

Been there done that and it is precisely what part of the fight is about: freedom of the minority from the majority and vice versa

I know Jeff does good work for SR and the Saints in general. That being said I am glad to know that he is such an open minded liberal that when Drew Brees says something he disagrees with he feels it is his job to talk about what a "bad pass" he just threw. Blow it out of your *** Jeff, this is still American for a while and we still have our rights to our own opinions. Drew is my HERO!!!!!!

that statement was so hypocritical it just blew my mid.

Do you want to shut down the whole Guantanamo Bay base or just the prison?

+1 and bringing up the U.N. is a joke.

sorry, the prison. thanks for clarifying. don't want to confuse anyone.

He may not have to but I have my rights too so I can choose to not read or listen to any further articles or interviews from Jeff Duncan and wouldn't even be upset if Drew refused to do any interviews with Jeff or TP. It's what I'd do if I were Drew.
