He may not have to but I have my rights too so I can choose to not read or listen to any further articles or interviews from Jeff Duncan and wouldn't even be upset if Drew refused to do any interviews with Jeff or TP. It's what I'd do if I were Drew.

Fortunately, you're not Drew and I hope that Drew applies his Purdue education and is able to comprehend what his reading comprehension skills are a bit better than most of the people here.

Jeff should reserve his opinion until he has observed the facilities himself.

Then he can say whatever he wants.

Jeff Duncan is entitled to his opinion. I don't agree with it but he doesn't need to apologize to Drew for speaking his mind. People need to stop worrying about hurting other people's feelings and just speak their mind.

Watch your mouth. I am not going to have nothing bad said about my favorite Quarterback (Breesy in the Big Easy). Them fighting words.

Jeff is on my **** list.

I voted No. This GITMO stuff needs to be taken to political forum anyway IMHO.

Two threads on this opinion piece???

It has nothing to do with football.
It has everything to do with readers' political affiliations.
Why is it here? It should be a 10 page thread on the EE board. Where, eventually, posters will revert to name calling.

No. He shouldn't have to apologize, but he's still on my **** list. At least for the rest of the day.

No. Duncan's entitled to his opinons just as much as Drew is entitled to his opinons. And this is coming from a person who does not think too highy of Duncan. Should Duncan also apologize each time he decides to rip Reggie Bush or Robert Meachem or Jeremy Shockey as he has done on occasion? NO! We can all deem it nonsense. But then that's our opinion and there is nothing wrong with anyone voicing theirs.

If we all went around apologizing for our opinions, Drew Brees would owe Barack Obama an apology for saying that we should not close Guantanamo. Jeff Duncan would owe Drew Brees an apology for implicitly arguing that Drew's assessment was shortsighted. And you would owe Jeff Duncan an apology or saying that his assessment of Drew was biased, and for also creating this poll/thread.

I'm sure Drew could care less about Jeff Duncan writing an article expressing the other side of the story. If you want to get your feelings hurt, go right ahead. Drew is a big boy and realizes that sometimes people will disagree and just because they write an article it doesn't mean you need to go cry.

The article does not come across as scathing or even that negative. Duncan cited facts that disagreed with Brees' assessment of Guantanamo, which is fair.

I don't understand why anyone would be up-in-arms about a rather innocuous article?

The only slightly critical thing of Brees that Duncan said was this:

"I'm sure Brees accurately described the conditions at Gitmo during his visit. But clearly that wasn't the case previously."

And that's not even really critical he's just pointing out that Brees' opinion is based on now and he did not see the place when the violations were occurring. Are Christian Conservatives so sensitive that they can't even deal with something as innocuous as this? PC run amok indeed.
