Legit becoming one of my least favorite Saints of the modern era behind Jason David, Dennis Allen, and Pete CCarr is comically bad… and he gets $150M

He got mad at Chris for not running, even tho he was never supposed to be an option. Got mad and threw it away. Just like he gets mad and throws picks, he even admitted it. He gets mad and makes stupid throws… This is our QB for the next couple of years folks…I seriously don't understand how people are still making this comment.
Care threw the ball AWAY.
Very next frame, we see that Olave clears and the pass to Taysom is there. We have plenty of evidence to show Olave "loafing" on some plays, but on the particular play, most of the blame falls on Carr. Like I said, the throw to Taysom was still there but even if it wasn't, he still didn't go through his reads.Olave did NOT run his route and that allowed the Defense to take Carr's primary look away.
Watch the defenders I circled.
This next frame is at the end of Carr's 3 step drop:
Here you can clearly see Olave has already begin to jog. Hill is almost 2 yards more downfield. The Nickleback and safety both read there is no deep threat and stop back pedaling to flatten out their technique.
On this next frame you can see the Left tackle has been beaten inside and is about to crush the QB, and the the second level defender under cuts Hill's route taking the throw away so Carr has to try it away to avoid a sack at the goal line.
Olave is clearly loafing, but I think the Defense anticipated this route, and even though Olave was not in the read progression, had he run his route here, I think Carr throws him a 50/50 ball instead of taking a sack.
Carr has plenty of fault in the offense underperforming, but that is absolutely no excuse for Olave consistently giving up on his routes and not selling his clear-outs.
Like I seriously don't know what Carr was mad about...at the exact moment when he let go of the ball that EVENTUALLY LANDED 20 YARDS OUT OF BOUNDS Olave was still running into what would've been dou
A smart receive knows to come back to QB or break off his route and head down field.Olave did neither. Carr saw that and just threw it away. I know Olave was not the intended receiver but a lot of good plays happen in broken routes. Olave has a lot to learn. Carr has issues, yes, but our receivers have issues too. TH7 was the intended receiver. I could not see if he was open.Like I seriously don't know what Carr was mad about...at the exact moment when he let go of the ball that EVENTUALLY LANDED 20 YARDS OUT OF BOUNDS Olave was still running into what would've been double coverage.
The problem is this wasn't a broken play. According to CGM, Carr locked on Taysom and didn't go through his progressions. While Olave didn't just "book it," he did enough to clear Taysom and the throw was there to made. Instead of throwing it to Taysom, he just chucked it. It feels like it is a lot more going on with Carr and the receivers....A smart receive knows to come back to QB or break off his route and head down field.Olave did neither. Olave slowed up before he got past his defender???
That's exactly why (not saying it was right) he got upset. He has one job which was to clear out that side of the field. He stopped his route almost immediately.
I'm with Carr on this one. He's been watching Olave half assing routes all game. I don't think Carr was throwing the ball at Olave as a read/alert, he was just throwing it away at the only receiver near the boundary. He was so P'Oed that he then sprinted over to take a chunk out of the dudes arse. You're blaming Carr for the cumulative disfunction(as if the O-Line hasn't gotten him killed for 7 games) and our OC(is calling sheet plays) while Olave has been jogging routes. Blame the arse who isn't even trying to do their job first then come back around to everyone else when the low hanging fruit is taken care of.
So because Olave is loafing on the play, he get's mad and throws the ball away. Hill is breaking open on the play. How about he makes the throw to Hill and get the first down and deal with Olave later on the sideline.Olave did NOT run his route and that allowed the Defense to take Carr's primary look away.

Funny that the lowly Andy Dalton didn’t seem to have all these problems, with it also being his first year in the offense and also having a shaky line. The problem is this wasn't a broken play. It's not just Olave that's irritated. Shaheed is showing signs of being unhappy "Robot turn"...CGM didn't rush to Carr's defense either...and I can bet the TEs aint all that happy either. The problem is this wasn't a broken play. Carr is a "franchize QB"Funny that the lowly Andy Dalton didn’t seem to have all these problems, with it also being his first year in the offense and also having a shaky line.
So far this year, 2022 Dalton beats out Carr in just about every metric. For some metrics, Carr hasn’t put up better numbers in years, if ever. Which goes to your point—where’s the upgrade?
