So, Were the Players Ticked Off by the Booing? (1 Viewer)

Surprised the following hasn't been mentioned. About 1/2 or 2/3 through the 2023 baseball season, Trea Turner was not hitting anywhere near the level suggested by his exorbitant free agent contract. Then, a local radio station (as I understand it) persuaded the fans at Citizens Bank Park to give Turner a standing ovation instead of booing him. So, the Philadelphia fans--yes, the Philadelphia fans-- gave him the standing ovation. Turner's season turned around, as did the team's.

I have certainly booed at a stadium-- but I am not sure it accomplishes much except personal venting.

I'll admit. I booed during this last game. As soon as I saw the replay of the Alonte Taylor clean hit, I let the boos fly.

Boo my team? Nah. That's not in me and I don't see the good. And I feel very strongly the frustrations that others do so I understand others venting in this fashion.

This reminds me of Jordan Thompson, SS for LSU at the CWS earlier this year. He was in a 1 for 30 slump in the first 7 CWS games and had 2 errors in game 2 of the finals. But in game 3 of the finals when he came to bat the LSU fans gave him a standing ovation and encouraged him on and rallied him up and he ended his slump.
We’ve made our displeasure known, our displeasure is with the coaching, not the players, we all agree that Carr would be at least a little more serviceable with a game plan that fit his strengths, its not his fault he’s not getting it, lets try rallying around him and see if it can give him some confidence to overcome the poor coaching.

Over the years I've spent thousands of dollars on Saints merchandise and NFL Sunday Ticket. If I were in New Orleans and at the game I would have booed them at some of their games, and DA at the start. Their play this season has often been mediocre, so much so I'm surprised people don't go out to the airport and boo them off the plane.

IF they make the playoffs they will be one and done. I went into the season with low expectations due to some of the boneheaded decisions made last year and so far those lowered expectations have been fulfilled.
