Soooo when is it NOT Fire Season??? Franklin fire in Malibu CA (4 Viewers)

he does for major fires iirc and that season is typically spring/summer. Seems to be extending into late fall/early winter.

As long as you have dry conditions and wind, you have wildfire risk. California’s dry months have expanded so wildfire “season” has expanded .

California fire season has historically peaked in the fall (~October) which is right before the rainy season starts. Thus the vegetation is driest at this time and dry offshore winds (Santa Ana in the south or Diablo in the north) tend to occur this time of year as well. Northern California has had significant rain already so fire season is largely done there. The last big storm missed Southern California.
