Soooo when is it NOT Fire Season??? Franklin fire in Malibu CA (17 Viewers)

No doubt, and I agree about the waste and misuse. I was more commenting on the openness of the general American to "sacrifice" for the common good of all people. If there's nothing in it for them....you get the idea. I won't delve into politics, but something is wrong with the whole system when in the middle of people dying, fleeing for their very lives - while a wildfire destroys countless homes, some politicize the moment. Can't we come together for ANYTHING anymore? I digress.....
the same thing happened during the summer when hurricane season annihilated the southern states. Neither side holds the moral high ground they supposedly claim to have

It’s driven by media and the never ending over the top drama to lead the never ending social media news cycle. If you ask the general public I believe you still will get an answer where there is more common than not.

It says that this is punishable by 12 months in prison and/or $75k fine. I’m fully okay with throwing the book at clout chasers in instances like this. Unreal.
FAA should bury them but they have been spineless for years but only with the unlicensed rule breakers. It is so dumb. If I put my drone up in a TFR the FAA would build a new office in my colon.

Well put… I think. :hihi:

The Pallisades fire keeps moving to the north toward Tarzana - if it makes it over that ridge, it will enter a very high value area (including Calabasas) and then into the highly developed San Fernando Valley.

I hadn't been following this until today and didn't realize how bad this has been. And to find out some if this is the result of arson, awful.

Today my wife was telling me the names of some of the famous people who have lost their homes, and it's quite the list.

The aerials coming in over Pallisades is crazy. It looks like Dresden.

It looks like this through much of the area.

Well, considering that Soviets asked us to bomb Dresden and that U.S. and British B52 bombers had essentially turned most other German cities--Cologne, Hamburg, Essen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, most of Berlin destroyed and bombed-out almost 2 years before WWII ended and large areas of German infrastructure, buildings, schools, hospitals remained damaged well unto the 1960's (their are still areas in eastern Germany that haven't and never will recover to pre-WWII industrial, economic and population demographics as entire factories, businesses and minerals were extracted and taken back to USSR for reparation payments in very early GDR), and that Dresden bombing was man-made, this Pacific Palisades wildfires can only be fought and controlled and hopefully eliminate this threat.

No
A nation divided against itself cannot stand - Abraham Lincoln.

I'm afraid we are at that point now.
Not necessarily, if some outside, foreign power tried to invade like Russia's invasion of Ukraine, most Americans probably would rally to its defense. I feel pretty comfortable in saying that, too.

Are their deep, political divisions? Sure, and the temperature is up again like it was 8 years ago, but the reasons for those divisions and disagreements are more centered around certain people or certain parties political policies and what they say/represent more then I loathe or hate ___________ neighbor, co-worker, relative. Americans of different political stripes have to work, live and co-exist on a daily basis.
Guido and I are very different posters and people but I don't hate or dislike him or other posters with different views than me and frankly, it's stupid and idiotic to be petty and vindictative like that. Guido is a great guy and a great poster as is Terps, elf, Dave, Chuck, you Face and others that Ive had the pleasure of knowing the past 20+ years.
