Just refreshed the dashboard and it’s listed at 400 acres. Not sure what’s going on with the fire dept data entry team. Think maybe they entered the updated Palisades acreage on the Eaton fire bc when I last checked, it showed Eaton > acreage than Palisades which made me think ish got really out of hand overnight. The Eaton fire was at ~500 acres when I went to bed last night and is now currently at 2,227 acres. Yikes.

Yeah, it's not just cutting the brush and vegetation down, you have to cut it back and then REMOVE it. I mean, even I know that.Worst part is at wind speeds like that all the fire crews can do is manage disaster and try to save lives.
At a different time and place people are going to have to look at how Southern California landscapes these areas which contributes to these situations. These trails of unkept or barely kept up vegetation that line and surround houses and neighborhoods need to be looked at and how they can be better managed. Thinking about my brothers house in LA. There are so many green spaces with piles of vines and bushes that if this started in his community it would look exactly like what’s happening there
