Denver is considered “high desert.” I moved to Colorado in August of 1997, and don’t think I remember breaking a sweat until the next summer.

yeah sister calls it "high plains desert" - all the same.

its !@#@!# dry. Need an IV of spring water after a walk. lol.

never forget our first real extended stay 18 years or so ago and my sister telling me "get off plane- drink water. Not thirsty? drink more water or you will get a headache"

im like "pshhhhhhhhhh"

Kind of amazing as far as a timing thing is Frontline just did a doc shown on PBS last night about Lahaina, "Maui's Deadly Firestorm".

You simply cannot explain that kind of "dry" to anyone who lived in perennial 40-60% humidity.

And if you live in SE Louisiana, 40-60% humidity is as dry as it gets!!!

My wife and I ate a couple of restaurants in Lahaina back in September and it’s a slow rebuilding process. There are a fair amount of businesses open though.

These fires in Cali - it’s tough to see this and I truly hope that there isn’t much more loss of life. Devastating.

it had to go toward Malibu, no? or jumped north over the hills?

in 6 mo, Santa Monica has received a total of .08 inches of rain.



We get that in just one foggy morning.

i had no idea how little rain they get.

Appears that much of the spread has been further into the hills to the north and east.

Just a side comment, I always thought PCH was only the road that's up above. Didn't know it was the road that went by the Malibu beach houses. It's been 40 years since I was anywhere near that area.

Anyway, when they get a side by side of before and after with that area, it's going to be surreal.

if you see the google maps -there is a home under construction with scaffolding all around.

the end of video ( at light ) you see just some remaining metal from the scaffolding- the home is gone.

yeah this is terrible.
