Even if the D was THAT bad, the Pack still has to score 35+ to beat us....I would consider that at least marginally threatening.......

I think people need to also remember the 4th qtr was a full prevent that guaranteed a win at cost of lots of yards, they would not be able to make up 3 scores with 20 8-10 yard passes in a row. So if anyone wants to criticize defense, do so based on 1st to 3rd qtr.

The Saints D wasn't giving up CRAP until the scoreboard showed 35-10 and they went into a shell defense. GW and SP wanted to bleed the clock with a 25 point lead so the underneath stuff will be there. Manning looked good because he took the GIMME plays. He did exactly what GW and SP wanted and the Saints walked out with a 25 point win. Tonight was the 2009 defense we've so sorely missed. Turnovers early letting the Saints jump out to a huge lead and then just bleeding out the clock. Give up a ton of yards but up by 25, don't let them back in the game quick.

Not a fluke play. That was our defense just playing, like against the Seahawks in the playoffs last year.

If the offense has an off day, we are cooked, unless we get better.

Yeah, I guess you are right. All that pressure really got to him and forced him to take the easy check downs...

give me a break our defense did not start giving up points till game was wrapped up... how was the game much difference from the 09 performance (48-27) is our defense good enough to stop rodgers probably not but can the packers d stop brees i dont think so.

Let's face it: The Packers have a top notch offense. Is there defense that good? No.

In the first game of the season, the Saints played the Packers closer than ANY other team. Was it because of the defense? No. It was because of the offense.

Why have teams like the Bears and Detroit lost to the Packers? Because there offenses are NOT up to par with scoring alongside the Packer's offense. Yes, say what you will about Carolina, but that second week game shows that all you need is a solid offense and a couple of turnovers and you can BEAT THEM.

This is what the Saints are all about: Offense all around the field and get some turnovers. It's how we won in 2009. It's how we beat the Colts. It's how you can beat the Packers. I feel confident that if we manage to get to the NFC championship, we'll beat them this time.

Some things can't get fixed until after the season on D but in the meantime we got turnovers and we made them pay, keep doing this and we can hang with GB, SF, or anybody.

The game has changed so this is what you can expect without a pass rush from upfront. Packers turn you over, we did it and won it all, and unless you have a d that can rush upfront in today's league, turnovers is what it'll take.
