Steve Young's first comments: New Orleans defense is too bad to threaten the Packers.

He just dogged us again on post game report...said that aaron rodgers would say "wow, look at that offense...but man I would love to play that defense"....

If we get to play GB that means we are in likely in the NFCCG.

At that point, the chips can fall where they may. It's one game and anyone can beat anyone in that situation. I'm not going to over-analyze and doom us at this point.

Stupid smirk on his face asked to sum up the Saints in one sentence. "I'll say what Aaron Rodgers would say - man, that's a scary offense, man, I'd love to play that defense."

What a ridiculous tool.

Brees can say the same about the packers defense.

I usually like what Steve Young has to say, but he's wrong, frankly, and the only difference in my mind between the Saints D and the Packers D is the turnover margin. The way I see it - if the Saints play the Pack and are +2 or better in turnovers for the game, Saints win, no matter what field they play on.

Hopefully the turnovers from tonight become a habit. Keep in mind, we lead the league in forced fumbles, the ball just hasn't seemed to bounce our way.

The Pack has yet to face true adversity this season, either, so another matchup with a streaking Saints team in the playoffs could be a very rude awakening.

Exactly.

Let this team and this QB get another crack at GB with the chip of the first game on their shoulders. I'll take my chances at that point.

We had 39 turnovers that year, he didn't get all of them by himself.

Would it be nice to have? Of course, but it doesn't mean we can't take it away without one ballhawk.

He is the one veteran player that brought a "SWAG" to the D. Our d hasn't been the same since.

The truth hurts sometimes but with our defense we are going to need outscore teams. Fortunately we have the offense that can do it. Packers and Patriots which also have great offenses arent actually dominant on defense either so it could be the last team that has the ball wins.....

A few comments. If you take issue with Young's comment, I for one welcome your comments. It was a big win. The offense was fantastic. But I also try to be a student of the game. My suggestion to those who feel any critique of the team tonight is inappropriate is to move on to different discussions.

And like many of us are saying, the only way you can change that in mid season is by winning the turnover battle. That's it. Who we have is who we'll win it all with, or go down swinging with. Trade deadline's past, and you can't pick up a game changer off the waiver wire.

The Packers, Patriots and the Saints all need this formula because their defenses cannot stop an offense like these teams without this formula-this season anyway.

I think people need to also remember the 4th qtr was a full prevent that guaranteed a win at cost of lots of yards, they would not be able to make up 3 scores with 20 8-10 yard passes in a row. So if anyone wants to criticize defense, do so based on 1st to 3rd qtr.
The opening drive of the 3rd qtr was not gargage time....

The story here was that Brees simply overwhelmed the Giants defense. Totally abused them. His mastery was complete.

Manning exploited our defense fairly methodically when he had the chance, but he couldn't do it on Brees' level, just couldnt keep up. If Manning had scored on that first drive rather than throw the end zone pick this could have been a much tighter game...we played the run passably well but got zero pressure.

If we face Rogers again and play this way, it is going to be a 52-50 game.
