Steve Young's first comments: New Orleans defense is too bad to threaten the Packers. (2 Viewers)

Didn't our defense hold them to only 10 pts through 3qts though? Wasn't it 35-10 going into the 4th? I figured they definitely relaxed a little after that.

that late dropped pick by Porter ****** me off we've gotta learn to catch it would be critical against Rodgers.

The opening drive of the 3rd qtr was not gargage time....

The story here was that Brees simply overwhelmed the Giants defense. Totally abused them. His mastery was complete.

Manning exploited our defense fairly methodically when he had the chance, but her couldn't do it on Brees' level. If Manning had scored on that first drive rather than throw the end zone pick this could have been a much tighter game...we played te run passably well but got zero pressure.

If we face Rogers again and play this way, it is going to be a 52-50 game.

Maybe it will be a game like that and if it is there's no shame in whoever loses because we're seeing offense played at a level that may be unprecedented in NFL history. The difference in the last meeting was one turnover. Special teams scores cancelled out. We didn't convert on a couple of 4th downs and that's about it.

To beat teams like these two (and NE) you've got to:

keep them on the sideline (like Atlanta tries to do)

Get pressure with four men (like St.L)

make them work hard enough until they make a mistake, or

force turnovers. Other than that it's hard to stop them or us because the rules favor offenses like these. I'm just glad we got one of them.

How we do not get more pressure considering the amount of times we blitz is dumbfounding.

So you sit here and trash our D, but it's my understanding that our D is the reason Manning DIDN'T score on that first drive. Give credit where it's due. Will Herring made an incredible play on that endzone pass. Our D was a HUGE part in us winning this game. Deal with it.

The big issue with our blitzing is there is no rhyme or reason to it.

You should blitz in such a way that one side or the other or possibly even a huge gap up the middle is created.

80 percent of our blitzes are guys running into offensive linemen. I can't tell you how many times blitzers just get jammed up alongside other Saints' D-linemen.

Creativity is needed.

Don't just throw darts at a dartboard with a blindfold on.

That's what it looks like out there with Gregg Williams.

The DBs are saving his butt like we did in 09.

But they get turnovers... like we did in 09.

The Packers in 2011 are the Saints of 09.

Why do you think they are averaging 35 ppg vs our 31 (before tonight's game)?

Green Bay averages only 401 yards per game. The Saints are up to 450 yards per game (437 before tonight's game).

Redzone possessions and turnovers.

Well he just announced his retirement according to Adam Schefter so I guess the team won't win another SB.

u obviously missed the point.

Without a "Sharper" type defensive playmaker, we don't win another SB.

even though its off subject I hate when everytime we play the media is always calling for a shootout disrespecting the hell out of our defense the same defense that's statisticly better than the packers and pats.
