Taysom Hill and Route Running (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry, he's typing sentences like below thinking it has some sort of solid meaning behind it. It's pure hatred of a player.

but I don't agree with the opinion that he will be good just because he has produced everywhere.
I give up . You can't debate with closed minds. You call my opinion hate and I call yours hypersensitivity to a player you like so if anyone has something they don't like or think the same way you do. It goes beyond this board it boils down to if someone doesn't express things that play into another's beliefs it is somehow dense or wrong or they want to tell a individual how to thi k or what they are really thinking no matter how they try to explain otherwise. I am a highly cynical person and these little cry baby rants that you are having just proves my cynicism. Even in a supposedly neutral environment of Saints fans it's still people pushing their ideas and thoughts to benefit or controll narratives for their own self interests. Does this make you feel like you are the protector of all different opinions to players or is it you love Taysom so much you can't stand to have anyone utter anything you deem undeserving criticism to label it as hate. Once again the only thing I had an issue with is him being our QB it has nothing to do with him not being a very valuable weapon to the offense and ST unit.

Taysom can't read defenses quickly enough along with making adjustments presnap for blitzes. He is a one maybe 2 read QB that will make some good short intermediate throws with acurrucacy. He needs to work on his ball security and touch passes . I just see someone who isn't fully comfortable in running a timing type offense right now and we don't have the time to wait and he for me is too old to wait for especially if a Championship is our goal as it is now and in the future I want somebody younger.

Winston has his own faults he still has a tendency to be that gambler and his accuracy got better but he needs to work on that. Winston can run just as well from the position and has more accuracy with the deep ball and has a sense of when to put touch on the ball . Winston is younger and has a big arm also but is more accurate and he can progress through his reads quicker.

Jameis is younger and just has more upside and potential than Taysom but he still has to prove he can put it all together but the progress is there and proven. If Taysom had been better Payton would have named him the starter. Those are my reasons for not wanting Taysom anywhere near the QB room especially because we have Dalton. Winston has things to prove he by showing he has got it figured out.

If we draft or find another QB that is proven to be better than Jamie's then Jameis should be demoted that's at any position on any pro sports team.

There is my ONLY objection to Taysom Hill let me repeat HILL IS EXTREMELY Important to the success of the team let's hope the injury doesn't derail him WE NEED him MORE than chocolate 😁 I can't be anymore clear and if you still feel the same way then oh well .

Did you read how he ended that same sentence? It was like he was pretending he's not something (taysom hater) when in fact he goes straight to his opinion that He in fact is preaching the opposite of the beginning of the sentence. His hyperbolic ridiculous claim that if he's not a star like tony gonzales then essentially he's a tight end bust. He's enamored with this tight end label.
I am making light of people that are willing to anointed Hill and just saying he can automatically become successful at any position. The news was the Taysom Hill QB experiment is over and he will be focusing on tight end

. The assumptions that have been made is that it won't be a true tightend position it will something else. How can I get hung up on the TE thing when that's exactly what the news said that that was the plan for him. He has to prove he can be one if that is what his role will be we don't even know if he will work out there.
DA said he will primarily play TE in 2022 it is specific. There is a article posted March 29 just Google is Taysom Hill playing te in 2022.

Every play that he steps on the field, a defense will have to watch where he lines up and try to mitigate him. DA said he'll be a tight end. That doesn't mean he won't come in at FB, RB, and yes... as a wildcat and/or Passing QB. Unless DA and Carmichael decide to pigeonhole taysom into one specific role, I think we're going to see him do what he's been doing, just less as a passer and not as a potential starting QB.

As far as route running... probably see plays designed to scheme him open and get the ball in his hands fast, out in space, with some bodyguards out in front of him. Precise rout running probably won't be needed a lot.
^ The recipe.

I think when it comes to Taysom a lot of people conflate "can do" with "is awesome at".
They attribute abilities to a player, that don't exist. ie Taysom learning to be QB1 in one off season in Idaho. He was no closer to learning that in one off season, then he is going to learn to be a starting TE while recovering from his 2nd Lis Franc surgery on his foot.

Does anyone really believe, any player can get into playing shape, learn a new position they have never started at, a few weeks after recovering from from an injury that kept them from putting (playing weight) on their foot for 6 months? Taysom is not Neo from the matrix. He has no special ability to adsorb information, or heal any quicker than any other player. I honestly hope he makes it back to be a part of the offense this coming season. He will get some targets, but nothing like the fan fiction some are writing on here.

Not a lot of players can say they were the best at their position, or they redefined a role through out the league. I would think Taysom would rather be the best (Joker) player of his era, than a back up QB or 3rd TE on this roster.

You're pretending like they are doing something with Taysom that they haven't already done and that Taysom has not already had success with. All of this Taysom hate is so freaking nauseating. You're so glad someone who has and gone 7-2 as a Saints starting qb is out the qb room but there's still guys like Ian Book in the room that doesn't bother you. The fact remains that Taysom is such a great AND MUCH NEEDED asset as his joker/H back role, the role that you seem to think he hasn't proven himself already, that they are telling him just to focus on that. Taysom literally has to prepare his body for one or the other. That is the other challenge of remaining in the qb room.

This coming from the guy who said TH should "demand a trade" after losing the QB competition (fair and most squarely) to Jameis.....is kind of rich.....

Or you still don’t understand the point of the request. Here saints fans are still complaining about Taysom and his contract.

As along as they keep running qb power with him I’m ok with the growing pains of him learning the details of playing full time TE in the NFL
For QB power to continue to work, there has to be more misdirection. Defenses have learned to crash the line on QB power by drawing the LBs to the point of attack. There needs to be a counter to that action in terms of a sweep in the opposite direction, or a pass into the area that the LB vacate. Get the defense to back off sending everyone in where TH7 is going and that QB power will be more effective.

Sometimes I wonder if that play would be more effective as a handoff from QB1? I understand that it loses leverage of the extra blocker. However, it opens up the bootleg in the opposite direction that forces the opposite side of the defense to stay home and opens up the crossing routes back behind the middle of the defense.

I understand just fine, and I'm not one of those complaining....he could be a huge contributor this upcoming season, just not as a QB.....

I think a lot of people are getting hung up on the term "tight end." As a lot of said here, it will definitely be a unique H-back role putting him on the line, in the slot, wild cat, RB, FB....etc. just find ways to get the ball in his hands. There is no way they will be using him as a traditional in-line tight end. I don't think Taysom will be asked to block...
Taysom was the best blocker on special teams.
He's also not totally learning a new position, as he's played out of to he the spot numerous times.

Unless he does indeed take the snap
As a qb.
Just start preparing his bust for Canton. It's OK Mrs Hill the Who Dat Nation still loves your little boy. My God you either like stirring stuff up or you have a massive crush on Hill. He is not and will never be the QB for the Saints no matter how much you want it to be. It was a stupid move that Payton would take Drew off of the field so Taysom could run a QB sweep.

I am curious to know if on those plays he was supposed to throw because either Payton didn't trust him or he just couldn't do it . When Taysom and Teddy were in where Drew was missing time our defense was playing out of their minds in hopes that they could hold the fort down until Drew could return.

The only good thing about Payton leaving is that DA is smart enough to kill Payton's goal to mold a QB out of a mountain of granite. Let him take the victory snap after he has scored a couple of tds in his new TE role because that is only time he should be behind center.

Hill may be able to make a few plays for us as a receiver, but he’s 31, coming off a pretty tough injury and moving to a new position. If we get anything out of him, we’ll be lucky.
There are some big question marks with that injury plus the fact that he got his bell rung in that Washington game he may be just one hit away from just hanging it up. Hill was out for a long time with that concussion and his play style isn't built on finesse and speed it's speed and smash mouth run through not around You style.

I agree we may be lucky to get anything out of him for any extended period of time . I hope for his health he can come back because he is exciting to watch and he can make some great game changing runs and plays in general. It's his style that just doesn't bode well for a player over 30 and I doubt he knows anything less than 200 percent.

Payton was the visionary that made Taysom who he is. Posts above make our fan base look terrible.
