The Avengers: Age of Ultron ****Now with Spoilers in living Technicolor*** (1 Viewer)

Way I heard it, Hank Pym won't even be in this. It'll likely be something Stark does. Like he'll try to make an even more battle capable offshot of JARVIS that goes off an does Ultrony things to people.

I find it interesting that they can use Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch. I thought there was still licensing stupidity where Fox still has rights to all things mutants, even though Disney owns Marvel.

well, since Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch are primarily members of the Avengers teams (in spite of being Magneto's children and members of the Brotherhood early on), i think its pretty fair to allow it. after all, they are tertiary characters in the Xmen storylines, and are secondary characters in Avengers storylines behind the Big 6 (the Pyms, Stark, Banner, Thor, and Cap). plus, if youre gonna bring in The Vision, you need to bring in his wife. and wherever she goes, so goes her twin brother.

besides, the Xmen franchise has a lockdown on Beast, a longtime member of the Avengers (who tried for decades to legitimize the Xmen in the public eye by being an Avenger). and Wolverine is a current member of the Avengers but you know as well as i do that Fox isnt going to let that gravy train go to anyone else.

From what I understand, Fox owns the rights to "Quicksilver" and "Scarlett Witch" and Marvel owns "Wanda Maximoff" and "Pietro Maximoff." At the very least, Marvel can't use the characters' paternal ancestry or call them "mutants." It all ties into their numerous appearances in both X-Men and Avengers books, and that they're almost different characters based on their interactions with the respective teams. Whatever the case is, I'm pretty sure that they're going to be major players in Avengers 2, and I'd guess that Quicksilver is going to be not much more than a throw-in for Days of Future Past; basically an appearance to stake a claim. I'll be surprised if he's a major character.

Both Marvel Studios and Fox can use the two characters. Fox Studios cannot mention The Avengers and Marvel Studios cannot mention Magneto or mutants.

Anyone else feel like the Scarlett Witch is going to have a pretty big role? I'm waiting for Joss Whedon to start writing in the strong female lead. It doesn't seem like Black Widow is going to get it, but I could be wrong because she has less star-power to fight in the new Cap. America film.

Avengers Disassembled into House of M, in my dreams anyway.

I read in some comic con article the other day saying the reference to the "Age of Ultron" comic period will have no barring on the movie, that it's "just a title". Still curious how they Pym in this since his movie is slated to come out a year after A2. As good a job Marvel is at pushing me towards DC, I'll still see any comic book movie. Well, almost any comic book movie.

I heard 6 months after A2. I don't think Pym is going to be in it at all, but Ant-Man being 6 months after Avengers 2 means they should be able to fit him in it if they were going to.

Now I fully understand the reason that none of this makes any freaking sense. But eh. Licensing.

And frankly, I'm just not interested in Black Widow. If she gets killed off it wouldn't bother me none. Her and Hawkeye, though him mainly because his actor doesn't look at all like he knows how to use a bow.

FWIW, Fishburne was the voice of the Silver Surfer in the 2nd Fantastic Four movie.

Did we have to mention that disaster of a film???

I admit my initial disappointment because of anticipation of Thanos, but Ultron was always a pretty intense villian as well - and as long as Whedon is in charge, I feel things will be done extrememly well, so this should be another great movie, and the build-up to Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet just ramps all the more. This should be fun.

As for who plays the Vision, I'll leave it to JW. He has an excellent eye for casting.

Still waiting for Nathan Fillion and Gina Torres to work their way into the cast...

They've released the Comic Con title announcement trailer online. It doesn't reveal much of anything, but it's well put-together and it does a damn fine job of getting me excited for the movie.

I knew exactly what would happen and I still got a chill. This is going to be sooooo good.
