The Avengers: Age of Ultron ****Now with Spoilers in living Technicolor*** (2 Viewers)

Wait... there was a comic-con trailer? How the hell did I miss that?

It was only shown to the audience in Hall H and was never made available publicly. From most reports, it was fairly similar to the trailer this week except a bit more expanded, and opened with the full aforementioned "Try to Lift Mjolnir" scene before Ultron shambles in and starts his monologue on puppets and strings.

What I find amazing is how good they are about keeping this stuff off the internet. In an age where everyone has phones, it's amazing that bootlegs of this Comic Con exclusive stuff so rarely make it out. I wonder why that is.

I'm very curious how they're going to work Atwell into the story. Her character is great, but I'm just concerned in terms of the flow of the movie.

I'm actually a little worried that this is becoming too crowded as far as cast and that it's going to lead to a disjointed plot that isn't given the time to sufficiently develop.

Any word on how long it's going to be? No way they get this in under 3 hours. It's very "Lord of the Rings" in terms of size and scope. But "Lord of the Rings" basically had 3 movies to tell 1 story. He're they're trying to do it all in one, that's my main concern.

Of course I'm still In.

2 hours and 40 minutes I think; 10 minutes longer than the first one, whatever that number is. And with the core team already set up, I think we'll have plenty of time for the rest of the story in that running time.

There is apparently a segment where Scarlet Witch, who is working for Ultron at the time, uses her powers to make each member of the Avengers re-live some traumatic experience or brings to life some dark secret for them. You'll notice in the early trailers there is a scene of Cap in some sort of castle looking construct. That's supposedly part of SW is making him relive something from the WW II era. It wouldn't shock me if Peggy plays into that somehow.

I think that is from the opening assault on a Hydra stronghold; Iron Man is there as well. I believe Cap's flash is to a WWII-era bar type place, glanced in the first trailer and filled with old-timey GI's. I'd say he finally gets his dance. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's visions, though. It supposedly messes them up pretty bad.

Sounds like we are getting a trailer this Thursday. This movie can't come take my money fast enough.

I'm usually one who refuses to see a movie on opening weekend; I prefer to wait until it's less crowded. And going at midnight to be the first to see it just seems silly to me; it's not like you get to see a better version of the movie or anything. However, I am so anxious for this movie, I will likely be there opening weekend. The midnight thing is too hard on my kids, who want to see it too, but I'm thinking opening night is a must for us. Can. Not. Wait.

Is it May yet?
