I felt that way mid-way through the first season. I kept going through the second season, but it was just more of the same. When I heard how excited the producers and writers were over the Superhero orgy that was going to be in Season 3, I knew I was done with all this middle school boy's locker room "humor." I didn't watch any of season 3, and I probably never will.

Yep, I was a little late to the party, but I enjoyed the show as well. My wife liked a lot of it, but she still cringes at the gore, kinda like how she hides her eyes when we're watching Twisted Metal. Not surprised you enjoyed it. Have you seen Peacemaker? Has a similar vibe.
