The continued overreactions by fan base and media is embarrassing (40 Viewers)

Freedom of speech is a right that many of us saints fan choose to use at this time. Our frustrations are mounting with loomis and how he orders vietnamese food and stops at stop signs
Freedom of speech only refers to the federal government’s capacity to retaliate at you for saying things its members may not like

However, nobody is obligated to put up with incessant whining on a fan message board - and Andrus has said as much earlier in this thread

My “rolling through a stop sign” post was so tongue-in-cheek I could lick my blush off my face, the sad truth is that I’m not as petulant about Mickey Loomis as many of y’all are

Add Fletcher Mackel to the Overreaction Brigade List.

An “advisor” lands an Assistant GM job...“Oh das a bad look.” 🙄

Fletcher Mackel is the worst member of mainstream/big-budget New Orleans sports media. He always wants to trade everybody, his trade ideas never make any sense, and he’s prone to emotional outbursts like this which would be tolerable if he at least knew ball… but he doesn’t

So that gave you the entitlement to come on and express your opinions. You are one the ones who call board members out and post polarizing topics. You even made a post and embedded a code in the writing. You avatar speaks loudly

The Saints have been told no or been passed on every coaching cycle in our existence.

Joe Brady is young and the greenest of all the options. High failure rate.

We do have some cap hurdles. Get over it.

Aaron Glenn went to New York where he played ball and got to bring a friend option. So what. 75% of us were crying we didn’t want him either.

Other organizations made terrible hires and nobody is criticizing them. I mean I don’t want the Pete Carroll and Russel Wilson option. PASS.

I don’t want Brian Schitneuer, I mean that’s equivalent To Mickey just hiring kubiak.

People are sky screaming and it’s all absurd. What’s worse is the media leading the crap narrative.

Having a membership here, with no strikes against it, gives me the capacity to come here and talk about the Saints. I don’t “call members out,” I don’t move from thread to thread telling people how much I disagree with them, I generally dislike conflict (disagreement is fine, posting your perspective is fine, taking the polemic is when I back out), I use the ignore and unwatch features when appropriate for me.

Here is a summary of every thread I’ve started on the SSF:

• which players might change jersey numbers in 2024
• A nostalgia thread about ESPN’s NFL PrimeTime from the 1990s
• two Saints trivia threads
• 2024 postseason rooting interest poll
• a joke post about Loomis amidst a swell of angry Loomis posts

My avatar says LOVE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS and I’m not sure how ambiguous that could possibly be.

I could careless what you think of Sean and Drew, its beside the point and kind of a lazy strawman argument. The point is that over a 15 year period they made the Saints a desirable destination and a place that both players and coaches looked at in a positive light. Its now clear that some of that shine has left.

We have a terrible roster, we have serious cap implications and Loomis and the FO is no longer looked at in the same light as some of the other top tier teams.
When a team fires a coach, they're not a top tier team. They're bad, usually really bad. The coach they've hired as a replacenent is going to a bad team. You guys really need to proofread your comments before posting them. The Jets are a bad team and have a long history of being bad. Bears are similar. So are the Jags, the Browns, Giants and the Panthers. Take a look at the teams that are always drafting in the top 5. It's usually the same group of them year in and year out. And they're there every year because they suck.

All this needs to be put into perspective. JMHO.😐

....and his face/voice is annoying

I
You can have last pick and still wind up with the best coach, because who knows. But if ownership/front office doesn’t do anything to address the reasons WHY it’s the least attractive job, then it almost doesn’t matter.

Kinda like having the first overall pick in the draft. You can get a great player but if you don’t change all the other things that made you 2-14 then it doesn’t change much.

I think it's pretty clear based on the coaching cycle this year that teams that have QBs get the most coveted coaches. Combine our lack of QB with an aging roster and a cap that will take a couple years to fix and we were never going to get the hot candidates. We are in the same position of the Raiders with no real solution at QB . That's why they got 72 year-old Pete Carroll despite having some cap space and better draft picks. We are just lucky that Jerry and McCarthy couldn't come to an agreement and that Jerry hired Schottenheimer. That left of with what I think are some pretty good options in McCarthy and Moore.
