Say byDamnnnnnnn... Stop it Willis.
How many years did he start? Do you think he needs to sit a year or two?It was off platform, because his footwork was bad.
Don't understand how a one read QB against a weak level of competition can climb that high in the draft.Say byBest QBs, NFL draft standouts from Senior Bowl Day 1: Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett impress
Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis showed why they are both in the QB1 conversation for the 2022 NFL draft class. Who else had a big day of practice at the Senior Bowl on Tuesday?www.espn.com
He's not year one ready. Maybe can be year two ready. How many years did he start? Do you think he needs to sit a year or two?
The one read thing is very concerning but the athleticism jumps off the screen. I agree he looks more like a 2 round prospect when you consider the level of competition. He's not year one ready. Maybe can be year two ready.
He's got to learn...
-Understand passing windows
-Anticipation throws
-multiple reads
-go through progression faster
-reading defense
I say one year minimum. He can play year two, but I say he would struggle like Josh Allen and I would invest in an elite QB coach.
Footwork is the least of his problems, but he's brewing with a lot of raw talent.
Drafting a QB this year and starting him will shorten Allen's tenure quickly. The best option is still Jameis but outside of injury, I don't see them beating him out in the next couple of years.Malik Willis in a nutshell is...
A prospect that bad team should be extremely worried about ending their executive careers early and a prospect that good teams should be salivating to get.
I just don't see how a bad team is going to have the patience to let him grow. We aren't in a position to be patient with him either.
Let's see how the Bengals effect hits the draft 1st. You could see a lot of Pass catchers value surging and we could be stuck at 18th with early 3rd round talents.Drafting a QB this year and starting him will shorten Allen's tenure quickly. I agree they could draft a QB if someone they like falls but I think the safest route is to try and bring JW back, bring in a blue-chip 1st round WR, and maximize the talent you have on offense.Let's see how the Bengals effect hits the draft 1st. Drafting a QB is in the realm of possibility. Reaching on Willis or Howell isn't that egregious.
His accuracy seems okay but the one-read thing is a cursed label for any athletic QB. Nevertheless, you are right Fields and Hurts were much better passers coming out against elite competition. I still don't know why the Bears hired a defensive coach.Willis has great physical abilities but I don’t think he’s a NFL QB. IMO he’s going to be a Michael Vick type, strong arm, great speed and evasion ability, but a low completion percentage QB. He’s not nearly as polished as a passer as Hurts or Fields were coming out of college and they’ve both struggled badly. Yes they tend to make big plays at times but they’re not efficient QB’s.
That’s the most ideal offseason. I have very little hope that plays out and we end up in situations of being forced to draft a young QB prospect.I agree they could draft a QB if someone they like falls but I think the safest route is to try and bring JW back, bring in a blue-chip 1st round WR, and maximize the talent you have on offense.
I like his coachability. So, I'm not exactly worried about it. He interviews extremely well for me.Willis has great physical abilities but I don’t think he’s a NFL QB.
