The Mandalorian discussion thread (2 Viewers)

I always wanted to see a live action version of Darth Bane.

Honestly, I think The Mandalorian is making it more likely for us to see things in live action that were previously considered only for animation or print in Star Wars. They have done it so flawlessly that I think Disney is probably shuffling through a lot of old content looking for what is next.

Their source is Pirates and Princesses, a site that pretends to have inside sources but in reality makes everything up. There is zero merit to this report, or anything P&P "breaks" as a story.

The most likely option is they just cast Lars Mikkelson, who voice acted him on Rebels.

Honestly, I've long thought Christopher Walken would be a perfect choice for Thrawn.

When I first read the trilogy, John Lithgow was the face/voice in my head. If you've seen him play a villain (mostly films in late 70s/early 80s), you'll understand, but he has such a reputation for comedy now, I'm not sure he'd be a good choice.
As for RDJ, I can't say I'd cast him for it. As for Mikkelson, I don't think he's imposing looking enough, and I wasn't that crazy about his voice in Rebels. His calm, in charge delivery of lines was good, but his voice was too soft and airy to me. I wanted a stronger, more authoritarian timbre.

Finally finished season 2 (was waiting for my daughter to have time to watch it) this week.

SO PHENOMENAL! Episode 1 was slow, I was so-so on episode 2, even with the "Easter egg" Spiders from Rebels (because the sequence ended up looking way too much like Harry Potter escaping the spiders), but every episode after that just raised the bar, each one topping the greatness of the one coming before it. And obviously, the finale was spectacular. Honestly, better than the finale of any of the films except maybe the original.

I am excited about the directions season 3 can go. The prospect of Bo Kataan's crusade to restore Mandalore is awesome, but even more is seeing Thrawn on camera, and more Ahsoka as they go against Thrawn. I sincerely hope they are able to realize both of those plots, even over a couple of seasons.

...and since we've gotten Bo Jataan and Ahsoka, now that Thrawn is on the horizon, will we get Ezra Bridger - and will Sabine appear with him?

And, of course, landing on the planet raise the prospect of the Bendu making an appearance as well.

As much fun as The Book of Boba Fett looks like it will be, I'm more looking forward to the next season of Mandalorian, even though Grogu won't likely be in it for more than a possible cameo.

At first I liked his voice in Rebels but then I grew tired of it. It sounds like he's not even interested.

I doubt Thrawn will be on the show since Ahsoka is getting her own and will likely be looking for him there. Also, Sabine wasn't with Ezra when he went after Thrawn. Now maybe Thrawn will show up later on when The Mandalorian, Ahsoka and The Rangers of the New Republic crossover.

Right, but at the end of Rebels, Sabine stated her intention to find Ezra, and Ahsoka went with her to help.

So now we have Ahsoka, still looking for Thrawn -- so Sabine and Ezra are definitely in play.

I'm assuming that Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn so she can find Ezra.

Yes, she went with Sabine to find Ezra. So, last we saw of Sabine, she and Ahsoka were looking for Ezra. So, if we have Ahsoka, Sabine is a definite possibility to show up.

Sorry, I was commenting more about Sabine showing up than Thrawn showing up in the Mandalorian. I assume he might be a drifting villain between shows

No no, what I'm saying is that we last saw Ezra with Thrawn so I'm guessing Ahsoka is looking for him and Sabine would be as well. I would think Sabine is not with Ezra unless she found him without Ahsoka.

Aaahhh... sorry, misunderstood. There are a couple of possibilities. Maybe Sabine and Ahsoka already found Ezra, but Thrawn escaped, and Ahsoka split up from Sabine and Ezra to go after him (or they split up to cover more ground to look for him).

Since Ahsoka is now in the known part of the galaxy (if on the edge), and she's asking about Thrawn and assuming that Elsbeth knows the answer, I would assume that means Thrawn (and presumably Ezra), have made their way back.
