They had him, but Iron Man 2 really soured the relationship and he walked away from any behind the scenes roles.

I totally forgot about that. I know it's not a popular view, but I really enjoyed IM2. I get why some people didn't like it tho. I still love the MCU but it's missing what we're seeing in Mando. It's a really nice balance between the serious and fun and silly goofy stuff. I'm just finding recent themes to be not serious enough in the MCU.

SW has had their share of misses with the movies, and with the occasional miss in their series. But their small screen stuff has been superior since Mando first came out.

Mando just has it all and it's well done. Quality show in all respects imo.

I mean, to each his own, but your take is baffling.

Everyone that has seen the media screener for the second episode says its incredible. Even if you didn't dig this episode (I can't fathom that but whatever) I wouldn't bail based on a season opener that's setting up things up. Like we're basically promised a return to Mandalore, Mandalorian clan intrigue, conflict over the Darksaber and who gets to be Mand'alor, etc.

I think this episode did do a lot of recapping and kind of rehashing for those that maybe weren’t up to speed and haven’t rewatched since season two ended in December of 2020 and wanted t on make sure everyone was on the same page after two years away. I’m thinking episode two will be so a lot more in moving the story forward
