I don’t think the duration is the issue - it’s the circumstances. Kyle got a medical waiver for a racetrack injury, but I think this is quite different. But Nascar has always been as much of a promoter as a ruling body so I suspect they’ll give it to him as long as he qualifies.
Yeah, curious. It's weird because stuff like this gets talked about as if Nascar might not grant a waiver. Same sort of talk happened last season with Kurt Busch. But like you said, seems like they usually if not always grant waivers if the driver otherwise qualifies.Apparently Nascar has never not granted a medical waiver, Tony got one for an off-track (off-season) injury back in 2016. Chase will get in the playoffs if he wins a race or otherwise makes it on points.
