Just rewatched that last lap and that shift Joey did from the inside to the outside lane and the bump from Bell sealed the deal. Not many drivers with the balls to pull that move to get in position to win.

Man, that was a good race, especially the final stage. Good solid superspeedway racing. The changes at Atlanta are starting to pay off now. And Joey drives the sheet of of that 22 car. I don't think anyone thought last year was a fluke, but he's clearly nowhere near done yet.
The 7 had a great finish and the 45 fought hard all race but got outmaneuvered at the end.
I don't mind the stage system, and I don't even mind the caution between stages. What I don't like is having the laps between stages count. If a stage ends at lap 50 then the lap at the next green flag is 51.Gotta say, watching a race with no stage cautions is so much better, especially for a road race. Two really good races today. The pit strategies were interesting. Should be a fun Cup race tomorrow.
Idk if they should do the same for ovals, but I wouldn't mind it, I think.

Yeah, my issue is they use up so many laps. If it was a lap or two, but using up 5-7 laps on stage breaks and a million commercials is grrr. I liked that they just keep on racing at the end of a stage and it does change up the pit strategies a bit where they might try to do fewer stops instead of pitting around the stages intervals.I get that perspective but I’m okay with it. After the first green flies, all laps count - the only way laps don’t count is if they go to red. So I think it’s sensible to count the stage yellow laps.
