The Nascar Thread (1 Viewer)

That was so awesome - what a race SVG ran! I had him in my pick’em, and Ross last week, two in a row! SVG was just outstanding.

I loved the course and the racing. Late start after torrential rain almost ruined the weekend but in the end, they got a chance to run it and it was freakin great.

I loved the shot back down Jackson Dr. as they came to the last turn before the S/F line, with regular traffic going on behind the race.

I believe they're supposed to return next year. Not sure if that was an option or definite, but I'd love for Nascar to do an annual street race. The layout of the track was actually well done and just an amazing backdrop.

There are a lot of good candidates for street races in the future. They should do at least 1 per season and maybe add a second and rotate cities. Some fun places could be Miami, Dallas, Seattle, SF, LA and Vegas. I think Detroit and DC could be some other possibilities. I'm just happy Chicago was on board. The track, the city, the festive atmosphere. Just sucked that the rain was so bad.

Truck race running late, had lightning delay and about to start on a wet track at Mid-Ohio RC. Gonna be a mess, lol.

Single file starts also.

Xfinity and Cup in Atlanta.

RC for Arca/trucks and superspeedway for Xfinity/Cup is a nice mix.

They are going to be lucky to get to the halfway point of this race due to the weather.

Solid race so far. That track is getting some of those guys loose. The battles up front are pretty fun for sure.

It was pretty bizarre how Penske had all three cars in the top 5 or 6 most of the evening, and then they pit for 4 tires just minutes before the rain came. Blaney ended up 9th and both the 2 and the 22 out of the top 10.

Do they not have radar? Total head-scratcher there

Yeah, only thing I can think of is maybe they thought the weather was moving slower than it was.

That said, dood, how the heck did Byron win? He was stuck a lap down after he spun out early in the race.

The pit strategy made all the difference for Byron and he took advantage. But gah, I was pulling for Suarez to make it 3 wins in a row for Trackhouse. That team has their sheet together since the All-Star race.

I'm ready for the race today. And Button had himself a fun time this weekend in the NascarG56 car. His burnouts were sick, lol.

i am not a NASCAR guy but i went to the Daytona International Speedway last week and did the tour of the place....very cool tour and i would recommend to anyone even if you aren't into racing

also did a ride-along for 3 laps around the track at 170 mph :9:

Did you have to get tickets? Was it part of an event or do you make reservations? I'd definitely be interested in doing something like that.
