That happened on the second almost flag when Devito did his best acting job to try and get a flag, but it back fired and he lost playing time and almost got put in the concussion protocol for that little stunt.I can almost understand getting it wrong live. But the guys in the league office have to tell them to pick that flag up.
Reminded of the playoff game in the dome when the 49ers full back rolled around grabbing his head. Once the flag was thrown he popped up and ran off. Makes me sick when those Labronesque flops work. That happened on the second almost flag when Devito did his best acting job to try and get a flag, but it back fired and he lost playing time and almost got put in the concussion protocol for that little stunt.
Fully decorated, but it’s all good. I’d rather kick a tree’s arse than somebody’s arse.Hopefully it wasn’t decorated yet!
They made up for it when they kept the flag in their pocket on the hit to Cutlets where he flopped and earned himself a trip to the blue tent.
Devito gets hit, it’s then ruled there was no foul. Then Devito goes to the tent. Why did the clock remained stopped and why did the Giants get to keep their timeout? Is that only at the end of the game?
Flopped? He didn't flop, he just totally failed in his slide. His body whipped around and he smacked his head hard on the turf.
The Giants did call a timeout, but then it was ruled "an official's timeout" and Giants got it back.
I'll have to peruse when an official's timeout can be used. Although in this case I suspect it may be due to someone determining that Cutlets had to come out for concussion eval.
Well we'll have to disagree. I think the only thing that was a flop was his attempted slide. That was 100% flop trying to draw a flag. Screwed himself. It was hilarious
And there is no reason that most reviews cannot be done in 10 to 20 seconds. It wound up not being a factor in the overall outcome of the game, but it extended the drive for the Giants and led to a FG.
The tackle by Taylor was textbook. He led with the shoulder, moved his head to the side, and went right through the receiver. You can't ask for a better tackle. Calling that ridiculousness of a penalty on 3rd and 22 was complete horse manure.
I'm with Bill Belichick - make everything reviewable. I don't care whether it's a judgment call, or if it's in an instant call (like Dean Blandino explained), they should get it right or at least have a tool for coaches to use to reverse this kind of egregious call.
….if it was truly about the integrity of the game and not selling merch and supporting social causes.Just have a team of 'elite' refs looking at any questionable flag in a control room in New York. They have access to all the replays and angles. They can call the head ref on any flag and overturn the call on the field.
It isn't rocket science. This could be fixed in one weekend.
You gotta admit that was a darned good acting job. I hope his agent has connections in Hollywood. Glad he got what he deserved though. Quarterback's are getting to be masters at that. Almost NBA quality. That happened on the second almost flag when Devito did his best acting job to try and get a flag, but it back fired and he lost playing time and almost got put in the concussion protocol for that little stunt.
No, the flag was gonna be against the Saints for personal foul for hitting Tommy Chicken Nuggets after he started his slide, but they waved it off after a discussion.Wasn’t there a flag after the DeVito non penalty for a Giant pushing anf fighting after the play? What happened to it?
