Even WDF knows not the run the screen against the prevent or in the red zone.

The swing pass or the wheel route would have been better options in those situations. Those worked just as well as the screen all game.

And they ran those too. And, one of the screens in the red zone should have gone for a TD but for a great individual defensive play.

Look at the play calls in the game log below when they were in the red zone they did not call many screens . They threw to the RBs 4 or 5 times, but a lot of those were swing passes and safety outlets, not screens.

I am well aware of what is a screen pass vs a check down. Here are the 3rd down red zone killers and the final two drives vs Prevent.

Redzone Killers
3rd and 5 at ARI 7
Screen
(12:51) (Shotgun) D.Brees pass short right to K.Robinson to ARZ 4 for 3 yards (M.Golden).

3rd and 10 at ARI 15
Screen?
(7:36) (Shotgun) D.Brees pass short left to M.Ingram to ARZ 15 for no gain (K.Minter, D.Bucannon).

Vs Prevent at end of game
1st and 10 at NO 3
Screen
(2:12) (Shotgun) D.Brees pass short right to M.Ingram pushed ob at NO 7 for 4 yards (K.Minter).

2nd and 10 at NO 39
Screen
(1:08) D.Brees pass short left to M.Ingram to NO 35 for -4 yards (K.Minter, M.Golden).

**** Madden. Madden is a terrible and unrealistic game. But yes I am relatively proficient at it.

Only two of those 4 plays were in the red zone and you don't even know if they were screen passes.

The other two were at the end of the game VS Prevent Defense. As stated multiple times already and in that specific post, Mr. Lawyer. I know for a fact the Final two plays vs Prevent Defense listed were screens, and the one to Khiry Robinson was a screen. I questioned the second one in the red zone that I listed. But since we are playing Lawyer, I will have to refrain from admitting it into evidence.

We made it to the red zone 5 times, once on 3rd and 3 at the 19- we ran a Fade over Peterson, which was very questionable play call a well. Once we scored. Twice we threw screens on 3rd down. 3 of 5 times we had a questionable call on 3rd down without re watching the tape.

Sigh. You are talking about 2 plays now and you aren't even sure if those were screens either. And as far as a "prevent" defense, you have no idea if that is what they were playing or not. For all you know, they were in a pressure look and just didn't come or maybe they did.

The point, as Jim Mora made long ago, is that you think you know, but you don't know. I too watched the gaming thinking that they ran too many screens, but in the end after some retrospection, you realize they passes for 355 yards and the problem was they had to settle for FGs instead of TDs. Can you quibble with some specific calls? Sure. But, the idea that the whole problem was they ran too many screens is simply based on our lack of knowledge about what is really going on in an NFL game compared to people who are paid a lot of money to coach it.

The entire time we have been discussing this, I have been specific about which plays I had issues with. This is not new evidence. While you continue to carry on about the entire body of work, I am specifically targeting the situations I felt were questionable.

for the record, mongeese is always allowed to ride my high horse, free of charge...and widge, you can ride the Shetland pony

I left the bar in the 4th quarter. I'm glad I missed that last score, the last rumble recovery, and where we coughed it right back up.

I never leave early. That was really crappy football.

I don't know what to think of our offense, other than it's offensive.

no bs guys, someone i know told me earlier this morning that brees has a torn rotator cuff. i hope he is wrong
