This isn't 1995.

We got this.

If we do Drew Brees will have to be considered the best qb of all time.

I can't recall any super bowl champion winning it all with these kind of injuries to the running game.

I'm really bummed out about our playoff chances. And I'm even more bummed out that my fear of playing Chicago looks like it will become a reality.

I think I'll take off the gloves on this post and say how I really feel about us.

No running backs are on the roster right now...and Reggie Bush, as dynamic and talented as he is, is capable of losing a game by himself due to doing stupid things and just flat out choking. He's also capable of getting hurt trying to shoulder too much of a load.

Our blitzes are just pointless and Greg williams has been figured out. As good as our defense is by rank, we just cant generate sacks or turnovers anymore and the failure of the blitz to get through along with our poor front 4 rush hurts. Darren Sharper looks like an old man out there. I'm still loving our cornerbacks, but they can only do so much with our poor pass rush.

Malcom Jenkins is awesome! But wait, he's hurt also, and the way the injuries have gone, I'm sure he will either be lost for the playoffs or just play hurt and be a shell of what he once was.

There is too much pressure on Brees and he cannot win it alone.

This team will beat the Seahawks and will most likely give the Bears or Falcons a pretty good game considering they have the heart of a champion. But they won't win.

I still consider it a great season though. Going to the playoffs and winning a playoff game is more than enough to keep me happy considering all these injuries.

SackHap-- What the ****!!11!1uno!:aargh:

Look man we appreciate your honesty, but tone it down some. I thought the role of a fan is to support their team, not say how you think they are mediocre. We could have the worst team in the league, but I'm gonna believe in them. I don't care if we have a team full of replacements, you should never say "they won't win". Right now is the time that our team needs us. They might be down a little, but that should'nt unwaiver our support. We need to stand strong behind them and believe in them.

Brees can and has won games virtually by himself. In addition, although Bush is prone to mess up, he has showed up in the playoffs and he looked really good last week against Tampa. Beyond that, the running game more or less comes down to how well your offensive line is playing and our line is capable of being one of the best in the leauge, they just haven't shown it yet this year. So, yes, even a Julius Jones, Wynn, Bell combo might get it done and certainly Reggie Bush can get it done behind our line. But, even if that doesn't happen, Payton and Brees can adjust and still score a large number of points even without a running game. My bigger concern on offense is the health of Graham and Shockey.

And on defense, we are better than the team that won the Super Bowl last year. Jenkins being hurt blows, but even if he is out, his replacement is a future Hall of Fame FS who still have some games left in him.

So, in the end, even with the injuries, this team is probably more talented than the one that won the Lombardi last year. All that really matters is if they come to play on game day and given the playoff experience this team and coaching staff have, I'd say that's almost a guarantee.

In short, buzd is right, we got this.

And, in the end, even if I'm wrong and we don't have this, isn't it a lot more fun to be positive about the team and the game than to be depressed about it. I mean isn't the entire point of being a fan to have a good time?

As an advocate for pessimism, let me posit that it is in fact the best chance for happiness. If you're a pessimist, the worst that can happen is you're right, in which case you lose nothing. But they might win, in which case you are very pleasantly surprised....always a good thing.

On the other hand, with a good attitude, if they win, it's exactly what you expected, so what? But if they lose, your hopes and dreams are crushed in a miasma of pain and misery until you can't even breath anymore and you just wish someone would put you out of your misery, but she's still there every morning when you wake up like an albatross around your neck. Nag nag nag. "I want to watch a dance show!" "Let me tell you about my day". And you realize it will be like that every day until you die, which you begin to pray will be right soon, but death never finds you. You're in a purgatory of bitterness, getting older and weaker, but no closer to sweet release of death. Finally, you realize that your only out is to wrap your mouth around the loving barrel of a 12 gauge, only you're too scared and too weak to pull the trigger. You pray for strength, but there's no one to hear it. This every day until you're just a shell of what was once human, moving robotic through space and time for all eternity.

Now which one of these is worse?

Nah, if you're an optimist you are sad for a short period of time and then you quickly turn to throughts of why we will win in all next year. Moreover, the optimist gets the week before the game to have a good time which never happens for the pessimist. And, if they win the job of the game week lead up is just increased after the win becuase you were right. So, you never get that depression if we lose and you get just as much if not more joy if we win because the pessimist is going to immediately start thinking about how we are going to lose the next week.

i just expect this team to win every week....and they have proven that they can unless they make critical mistakes...of course, this is something that can be fixed

we are our own worst enemy

Aaron Rodgers is trying to do the exact same thing and he has no tight ends either.

We will stomp Seattle. They've lost 7 of their last 10. We are simply better than them from top to bottom.

Chicago or Atlanta aren't anything special. Even if you think that our 28th ranked rushing attack is integral to our offense, what's gonna happen? It's gonna drop to the equivalent of being 30th ranked? Okay. So what? We'll still run the ball only as much as it takes to keep defenses honest.

Our defense can actually stop people this year. And as long as Brees is playing, we can score on any drive at any time.

If Atlanta or Chicago were some juggernauts, we might not have a chance with all the injuries. But they aren't.

We won't dominate our way through these playoffs. But we have a good chance to win all these games, a damn good chance.

Can you really ask for more than that as a fan?
