There oughta be a law against American cheese.. ok i realize already that they legally cant just call it ‘cheese’ on the packaging, i believe it says ‘processed cheese product’ or something - but it’s the nastiest substance on the planet, and it should be illegal for a restaurant to say ‘Would you like cheese on that ?!’ .. and then it comes out with processed cheese chemical sh**storm product oozing off of it .

People turning at a 4 way stop divided intersection without using a turn signal and getting mad at me when I almost hit them.

Depends on what the meal is. Making a sandwich? Nah, would rather have some real good cheese.

95 degrees outside and we just grilled hotdogs? I am opening my hot dog bun, putting a kraft american cheese slice in the bottom, putting the hotdog in on top of said cheese, ripping off the overage on each side of the bun, putting the overage on top of the hot dog, and putting it in the microwave for 10 seconds. No other condiments. Best home hot dog ever, doesn't work with any other kind of cheese.

A place for everything, everything has it's place.

American cheese has no place.. it’s not even the fact that it’s “fake” that bothers me, it’s the taste.. that horrid plastic taste.. id be willing to wager you dont even like the taste of it on ur hot dogs, it’s just some type of weird nostalgia you might have about your sweet old Uncle Fred who used to put Kraft slices on ur hot dogs when you were a kid or some such nonsense.. it has no place .

There oughta be a law against people saying "What happened?" when they really mean: "I didn't hear what you said".
I approached a supermarket employee and asked: "Which aisle can I find the sandwich bags?"
She replied: "What happened?"
Well, nothing happened. Which aisle does this store display the sandwich bags?
She's not the first person I've encountered who uses "What Happened?" when they didn't hear you clearly.

You’re right, everyone knows that the proper response is ‘What HAD happened ?’

So i guess this will be a thread about pet peeves.. my biggest pet peeve, by a huge margin- is when you are watching television , then a commercial comes on- and the volume is literally DOUBLE the volume of the television program you are watching.. and it’s gotten worse over the last 10 or 15 years.. it’s obnoxious and intrusive .. And yes, there should absolutely be a law against it .

I think it's TNT that is the worst. The volume of the shows are low to begin with and then they crank it up to 11 for commercials. So you have the volume up to hear the show and then the commercials blast your ears.

So every intersection in New Orleans? People just refuse to use turn signals even when they are slamming on their brakes to make an illegal left hand turn. I see it pretty much so every morning at the corner of Orleans and Claiborne and then Basin and Canal.

Not all "American Cheese" is a processed cheese like substance. Some of it is actual real cheese.

I believe we have had this conversation before.. you may be correct, im not sure- i do know that for the purposes of this thread, the American cheese im referring to that cheap-arse restaurants insist on using, and that the responses (ie the knuckleheaded meme someone posted, and the hot dog guy) are talking about are “Kraft slices” and it’s derivatives .

We may have talked about this before. I'm nothing if not repetitive. Plus, I'm old and forget things.

But, I think even the not real cheese has it's place. I would not put it on a hot dog or a burger for that matter, but there is something comforting about it on a grilled cheese sandwich. Probably has to do with the association to childhood. I feel the same way about a McDonal's cheeseburger. It's not really food or a cheeseburger, but there is an association with childhood that somehow makes it "good". Although I usually go many years between having one.

On the lighter side, waving another car through the 4 way stop although they got there first. We all know what a stop sign means. There's no confusion if we all follow the rules on the books. Stop making this a personal interaction between us, I'm waiting and staring at you until you go every time.

To get around the rule they switch to a different sound format for the commercials (or that's what they did when I cared about it).
