Things That Make You Feel Old (1 Viewer)

For me, aging isnt abiut hurting all the time, though I certainly do

its the amount of things I have to put in and on my body before bed.. salves, ointments, pads, pills. takes forever

I hit the wall for real at 50. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually everything got much more difficult. It has not become any easier in the ensuing 13 years, but 50 was falling off a cliff.
I'm 53 and haven't quite hit it yet, but I'm getting there, lol.

Within the past 2 years, I dated someone who was 16 years younger than me. I was 44 and she was 28. Just a beautiful Latina in every way, although I always felt weird that I was a sophomore in high school when she was born🤣. Couldn’t shake that thought, so I had to break up with her.

I'm still running, but at 49 I ran a 1:50 half-marathon. At 60 I made a deal with my body-"give me one last half-marathon and I'll hang it up for longer races". I finished in 2:20, 30 minutes slower for 13.1 miles. :covri:

Now it would be 1:50 10k :hihi:

Dude, I hope not.
Turning 50 this month. Both parents have passed(mother recently). Kid is a senior. It’s getting tough emotionally and physically. I Run 10ks frequently. Haven’t done a 1/2 marathon in 2 years.
Maybe training for one would help, but the Mardi Gras 1/2 is no longer here.

Sorry to hear about your mother

Real sorry for your loss. There is something about losing a parent/parents that along with the grief makes you feel older. It's an unfortunate milestone in our lives.

Trust me. I hear ya. I'm 53. It was college move in weekend for both my kids. They had a bunch of stuff to move in.

Had to stretch before helping.........😳
On Tuesday evening I moved mine out of his cottage in Chincoteague following his 30-day stint in inpatient rehab, but that’s another story

That event hasn’t made me feel old, it’s taken 10 years off my life. The bar we had all set for him “graduate from college, etc” has now been lowered to “don’t drink today”

It’s tough, and it ****** sucks

Man....and here I am, still doing an hour to 1.5 hours on the treadmill thinking I'm all that at 60 (I'm not).....Dude, you are probably in the top 2 percentile for your age...shape wise....
