Things That Make You Feel Old (1 Viewer)

I'll hit 50 in a few months and the least year or two for me have been eye-openers. Try to do the things you used to do and think you should be able to do....and your body fights you tooth and nail. I mean I'm not in the worlds best shape or anything but still. That wall is real.

My philosophy after turning 40 is that to stay reasonably fit later in life look at it like a fight that you have to win....

And by winning I mean the days that you least want to go to the gym, run or walk/hike outside or anything else? Those are the days that it is most important to go, if you can do that, you've already won (at least on that day).....

Break through that wall brother!!!!!!

Wait until you have to think twice about jumping down off that tailgate.

On Tuesday evening I moved mine out of his cottage in Chincoteague following his 30-day stint in inpatient rehab, but that’s another story

That event hasn’t made me feel old, it’s taken 10 years off my life. The bar we had all set for him “graduate from college, etc” has now been lowered to “don’t drink today”

It’s tough, and it ****** sucks
Sorry to hear that you are going through that.

Not being included at work events/functions.

And not on purpose mind you, but by age. The younger people flock together and do things, talk, laugh and so on and I am on the outside of it. I used to be in the younger group but as things happen, I'm not included.

Case in point: Three of my coworkers were talking and one of them is turning 33. To which the other two said, "Man, you are getting old." To which I turned around and said, "With all due respect, **** off." Yes, they laughed but it was a bit of blow to the ego......
