Got an email from the Saints that they would credit me the refund for the preseason game and the packers game towards next years tix or towards a suite. I emailed them and said I want a refund, not going to give them an interest free loan. They made me fill out a form and are processing the refund. However, in calculating the refund they significantly devalued the preseason game. In the past, they have charged as much for preseason games as regular season games. Just seems convenient that now when they are giving refunds, the preseason game is not as valuable. I looked back at my invoice and it doesn't say how much the charge was for each game. And of course we don't get paper tickets anymore so I wouldn't even know what face value would be considered. Anyone have any insight?

Do yourself a favor and cancel those tickets. I did it years ago and it was the best thing I've ever done. I can still see the game just fine (in many cases better than in person) And I don't have to deal with things like you describe here, along with the absolutely excessive cost of parking/food/beer, etc. I know it's not the insight you were looking for, but it's the best I have.

I think if you log into your Saints season ticket manager you can see the face value of the tickets. I think a few years back they started pricing different games at different prices based on preseason and primetime games but the difference was only in the 10% up or down range. I.e. not a huge difference. How much did they refund you for your preseason tickets compared to the Green Bay game?

They started weighted pricing on tickets several years ago. For the past few years preseason games have been valued less than the regular season. There are some regular season games (Falcons for example) that are valued more than others in this new system.

Black helicopters will be circling shortly...

Well that is the problem, they don't tell you what you paid for each one. I can still see the invoice I paid for season tix in my account but it doesn't break it down by each game. According to my rep "preseason games are drastically cheaper". So I don't think its plus or minus 10%. Theres no transparency.

I hear what you are saying. Every year me and my wife go through the "is it really worth it conversation". Especially with your point to how great of an experience it is to watch games at home these days. But I am going to keep them. I'm a lifelong Saints fan that just moved to New Orleans and became a season ticket holder 3 years ago. One of those years was wiped out by covid. We have had good luck with resell on games we haven't been able to go to and even made some money on some games. We still love to go and as the kids get older I would like for it to be a family thing. I don't know how long I will keep going but for the foreseeable future I like being a season ticket holder.

I don't think so. Let me know if you see otherwise.

I have to agree with you.

I enjoyed it and had the time of my life from '03 to '10 when I had my tickets in the terrace. When prices went up to pay for Dome renovations for Super Bowl 47 (the one when the lights went out), I had to bail. Just didn't fit my budget anymore. Since then, I've just gone on Ticket Exchange in about July or so and picked the one game I knew I wanted to make. It's much cheaper that way.

I received a Hurricane cancel refund to my seat geek account of $680.
I’m section Section 117 (plaza club) sec 18. I think my tickets are typically $220/seat face value (honestly don’t know anymore). So that means the preseason tickets were face value of only $120/ticket. Which is a big change I think that was implemented in 2019.

Do you see that? I can't. I emailed them asking for a game by game breakdown.
