Trade back into the 1st. (2 Viewers)

No...you need the 2023 first just in case you need to grab a QB
This. The Saints need to keep their picks and try to add more if anything. They showed they are willing to sell the farm for the right guy. If that guy is in next year's class then they need all the ammo they can get.

Trading up and placing more value on the quality of picks as opposed to the quantity was part of the all in philosophy with Brees & SP. I'd like to see them move away from that.

Ingram was a trade back into the first.
Exactly, and it didn't get us a another ring, so that turned out to be a bad trade up. You can't tell me Ingram played on a level to warrant a 1st and 2nd round pick. You could say he played at a 2nd round pick.

Nobody would think of trading up to get a running back these days.

Ingram was a major part of the Saints' identity regardless of rings.

And regardless of that, I'm not saying I like or dislike that trade or the idea of it again in the future. I'm saying there's historical precedent and with our GM.

There may be value in trading back into the first round but I think it would have to involve other moves. Trade #18 and move back to pick up another pick or two. Then package that and the second or third to move back up. We honestly need an OT and two WR. In that scenario I think it could work.

Do not want to use our 2023 first round pick in a trade at all, ZERO interest in that. I seriously doubt we stink up the joint, but if we do and we traded a top 5 pick for a Tackle who rips an ACL in August, this board will explode, and rightly so. If you are pretty darn certain that you will not draft in the top ten next year, you can do this sort of thing, the wheels could come off this year.

I like their strategy. If a guy you have graded highly is falling, go and get him. If that means a trade back into the first and you get the trade value you want, do it. Don't set out looking to trade back into the first though.
Yep.... I like the idea if someone we value is falling to trade up and get him.. The Rams proved draft capital is over rated,,,, this is different of course.... you are trading draft capital FOR draft capital not proven talent but I trust the FO to have valued a falling player if that occurs

Not true at all, There will probably be 6 or 7 QB's in next yrs draft with 1st RD grades . We could easy finish with a pick in the 20's and get one or trade up
That’s not even remotely true
