Trevor Penning is PFF’s top graded Saint; Penning is highest graded NFL OT in Week 10 (1 Viewer)

I’m not here to talk Pels, couldn’t care less about them, nor am I hear to talk about the past Saints teams, and I also don’t know what SP’s policy was on this years ago.

All I know is our current team has had abnormal injury issues and the current head coach decided to make warming up mandatory. I support his decision and I believe he feels it’s best for the team.

Whether you think so or not doesn’t matter. I stand with Rizzi and think it’ll pay dividends.
Ohh I support the mandatory warm-ups , it can't hurt. But to blast DA or say it's the cause of our injury issues is kind of ridiculous.
And you have to look at past Saints teams and 19 is not too long ago. If people are saying that the lack of mandatory warm-ups is that cause of our injury issues than you have to compare when and if they were.
Being that the Pels are owned by the same person and are in a worse boat injury wise , how they do things is a fair comparison

Not a single person has said it’s “the cause.” The main contention from myself and just about everyone is that it just points to us not doing everything humanly possibly to mitigate our crazy injury situation, including this most obvious thing.

How in the world is this even a point of contention with someone?

Not one. Honestly, it just feels like a hill thats been built and now it must be defended at all costs... hence the whole "admit you were wrong" line i got....But at least for me i am now free of ever having to deal with being spoken down to ad nauseum by a spam bot.

Not some , a lot of it was coaching not just Marrone but the decision to start hin last yr was bad after hardly any work in his 1st yr and the offseason
Meh. Most of it was work and growth on his own end. He is trusting himself and is in better control. He displayed horrible technique in the preseason despite having been taught better and, as of late now, we haven't seen a boneheaded personal foul penalty from him in a nice bit. ::knocks on wood::

I think preseason this was the feeling, I think that feeling is gone.....I don't know if Campbell has played himself out of the 1st round, but I certainly don't think he will go in the top 10 picks, he has majorly underwhelmed this year like most of LSU's offensive line.....

Yeah, but NFL teams don't just look at the current season, they go back to their entire career. If he falls and is available he's gonna be BPA for however far he falls out of the top 6/7.

Did you like Jonathan Sullivan? Because this is how you draft Jonathan Sullivan again. Don't. Draft. Positions. Draft. Players.
It’s very likely by the time we pick in those rounds that the best players will be those positions, which I why I said that. The top half of the 1st round has a few very good d-lineman, whether edge or DT. The 2nd round I believe Tre Harris will be BPA, I think he has a chance to go in the 1st. Third and 4th round projects to have a bunch of good interior o-lineman and RB’s, along with TE’s and safeties.

Luckily for us BPA will likely align with our needs

So there is never an instance where a college player has a underwhelming/poor last year and it hurts their draft chances?

Teams still reach for players at need positions, so it's possible he goes top 10 but I highly doubt it, he's really hurt his draft stock IMO....we will see what happens....

If he can be just an average starting RT, it helps the trajectory of this rebuild (even if the Saints don’t want to call it that).

Having a solid OL moving forward would make it easier to develop a QB and an offense under whoever is coaching.
This!!!

We have Fuaga, Ruiz, McCoy and Penning, we will probably draft a guard in the draft and sign one in free agency because not only should we be looking for a starter but we need to strengthen our depth behind them.

I agree, and edge rusher (not a 6'6 280lb one either) is needed and I hope whatever coach we hire brings a new vision to the defense where we can get more athletes on the edge and not just have lumbering guys wrestling with offensive lineman like two bears in the wilderness, we need guys with bend.
Must Haves- two new DTs, two new Guards and a pass catching TE. Wants- another Tackle and Center.
