Trevor Penning is PFF’s top graded Saint; Penning is highest graded NFL OT in Week 10 (2 Viewers)

Im kind of on board for this..

I mean Fuaga is only going to get better and Penning still isn't great in pass protection even with this major improvement so I'd rather keep Fuaga on the blind side. It's also possible that Penning is just better at RT and would struggle again at LT. And frankly, I'd hate to move him again now that he is finally doing a good job.

I think RT suits him, it accentuates who he is, and minimizes who he isn't. I'm in the camp of drafting another LT and sliding Fuaga over to LG.

I'd have no problem with that. I think Fuaga is fine at LT, but I'm not sure he's ever going to be an elite pass protector which is what you really want at LT. It would also fill the hole we have at LG which could in turn improve the overall depth of the OL.

I think we are mostly fine on the OL now, other than the lack of depth, given the version of the Shanahan/Kubiak system that we use, but if a new OC comes in that wants to spread it out more or throw more, we may need a better LT.

Yeah, based on the development we saw from guys on the o-line and the way Benton coached guys up, I'd consider that a safe position to draft. Meanwhile, were several years removed from signing Michael Thomas to an elite contract for a WR so we're due at this point. Would rather sign a FA WR next year set it up where the cap hit is minimal year one but grows after that. So long as it's a 25 year old WR and not someone in their late 20's etc.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. But I'm not sure what the plan is going to be for the next couple years regarding the cap and free agency. I'm also not sure what kind of offense we will end up running. Even if Rizzi stays he could decide to go another direction.

I don't think anyone is getting moved. I also look for TP to make more strides in his pass-pro the rest of the yr and beyond
Having both TP and TF being very good to elite run blockers and will probably only get better has me a bit more open to a defensive HC provided he keeps KK due to KK's emphasis on running the ball. Also I get the feeling that KK maybe does not have a super great desire to be a HC so he'd stay a while

I really hope Fuaga is our LT of the future, I would hate to invest another high pick on a LT. It would probably take a top 20 or so pick to get a great LT. I would think it would almost be overkill to use a #14 pick on a LG even if he turns out to be a very good one, especially in a wide zone scheme

I think it's way too early to tell if Fuaga will be great @ pass pro, but we need him to be at least very good. Our OL is built to run the ball as it stands. That's why I'm hoping that the next HC has that Shanny/Kubiak philosophy to take advantage of that
