Triplett says Saints Interest in Chris "Beanie" Wells is "Bona Fide" (1 Viewer)

Um, Pegues had one run in (that I know for sure of) with an off duty police officer (who had it coming to him) at a party where a girl was the underlying reason for the dispute....and wasn't because Pegues was beating/harassing a woman either. The off duty cop was the instigator and all charges were dropped on Pegues and other players involved.

I'd be upset if we got Wells... we have 2 holes on defense (OLB and FS), and RB is not a need.

Yes we may need to draft one, but not at 14.

:plus-un2:
I really don't know where everybody is getting this from.

I'd say he and Knowshon are 1A and 1B, but for our team Wells would be the better fit. Sorry I don't buy into the whole conference bull (sec vs big 10) people take way too seriously.

WOW, FS is a hole? You must think Sharper is washed up. Otherwise, we have FS depth concerns, but no way should it be labeled a hole.

Wells and Pegues... That'd go down as one of the worst drafts in Saints history.

A one dimensional power back that gets hurt by small injuries and is inconsistent.

A FS that's slow, undersized, and a poor tackler.

That just sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen. We are adding a player which has durability issues to a position in which players get injured a lot. Then adding a player which lacks the qualities necessary to be good in that position.

Ah, blame the police. Nice.

Pegues also had an open container problem recently. He obviously didn't learn his lesson. We don't need his kind on the team.

My ideal draft would be to take Malcolm Jenkins. If he is not there, slide down a few spots, pick up a second or third and draft Wells.
If we could get Wells and a 2nd or 3rd pick to boot by trading down, that would be a great move. I wonder if Loomis and Payton would risk losing the chance to draft Wells, though, if Jenkins is already off the board when they come up no the clock?

Well... assuming Sharper stays healthy I can't think of another FS that's on our entire roster... can you? And I don't mean a converted CB.

a) Of course I'm assuming those guys are gone, they would be BPA at 14. If they aren't, then one of those guys, especially Jenkins or Raji needs to be the guy.

b) We need to have a trade down partner. This is a weak 1st round this year, and there are reports that multiple teams want to trade down. Honestly, we need to get lucky to have a dance partner that wants to trade up far enough for us to justify the Sean Smith selection.

IMHO i believe that a lot fans who post on this board believe that the other teams will do what ever it takes to make us a better team. This will not happen because football is a very competive and a cut throat business and any team that wants to trade with us will want to take us to the cleaner in the trade.

I think he's destined for bust, but maybe I can talk myself into drinking the Kool Aid if we do blunder and take him.
