Tropical Storm remnants expected to hit SoCal Sunday (Update: Game will go as scheduled) (1 Viewer)

It has leaked during run of the mill every day storms too. Are you seriously introducing a Katrina level event to this game being played scenario? šŸ˜‚

Tell me this, is it leaking because itā€™s raining, or is it leaking and people are freaking out because itā€™s raining in an event called a ā€œhurricane?ā€ In other words, are there hurricane conditions outside there right now, or is it simply raining?

And no, they are not sitting near the eye of a category 4 storm right now, the way itā€™s being made to sound. Itā€™s simply raining out there.

We have had players PLAYING in the rain during storms before, with no roof.
The rain will be a result of a Tropical Storm, not a thunder storm. If you live in New Orleans , you should know that flooding from a tropical storm can sometimes be worse than a Cat 1 Hurricane. Especially in a terrain that is filled with mountains and cities without the drains that we have. Anything can happen with this TS that will hit LA and other areas tonight. Out of caution, the game should have been moved, or pushed earlier or canceled altogether. The Saints will not be able to fly out tonight due to safety concerns.

Okay. So the team decided to stay an extra day after the game as a precaution. Does this automatically mean cancel the game? Has no team ever run into a plane weather delay after a game? Does the game get cancelled if it looks like a team plane may not be able to take off on time due to weather?

Right and city officials never make a mistake. Tell that to the people in Maui.

Yes, believe it or not, they arenā€™t going to allow their multi-million dollar assets to get ripped apart by a hurricane/tornadoes to play a football game if itā€™s truly a threat to their well-being.

I guess the city/county thatā€™s allowing this game to happen with no evacuation orders and the like are also in on this conspiracy to make sure tickets donā€™t get refunded?
How long have you lived in the South? Seems not long enough to know that getting ripped apart by hurricane/tornadoes is not the most threatening or killing part of a hurricane. It's the flooding from storm surge and rain. That's what does the most damage and kills the most people.

What is the concern in Los Angeles? Who said people in Los Angeles are worried about getting ripped apart by wind and tornadoes? No one, that's who.

There have been evactuation orders in some hillside/mountain communities. Where the flooding will be is not as predictable in mountain areas as it is in the flat lands of the south. The best thing to do is shelter in place, until signs appear that the area you're in might become unsafe.

Guess what, all of Los Angeles as been advised to shelter in place, unless they are notified to evacuate because they are notified their area might become unsafe.

How does one safely shelter in place and drive to a football stadium? I'm not talking about the spectators, I'm talking about all of the people who work at the stadium. How do they safely shelter in place while also driving to and from work?

No, they needed to cancel the game or reschedule it earlier when they had the chance to do so. The Saints having to leave a day late screws up their practice week. That is an inconvenience. Someone losing their life in a flash flood situation trying to get to or leave a football game is inexcusable.

I agree they shouldā€™ve moved to Saturday.

Logistics after this will be a mess for sure.

Youā€™re right. Itā€™s inexcusable if a person decides to take that risk for a preseason game. If that person is in danger, itā€™s their responsibility to figure out if it is worth it or not, not the NFL, and based on the lack of any government orders, not the city/state government either.

If itā€™s raining bad here during a severe thunderstorm and Iā€™m hearing there may be flooding, Iā€™m not going out to a preseason game. If I do go and something happens, is it the leagueā€™s fault or is it my own?

Itā€™s 2023. This new world has to blame someone else cause ā€œno way itā€™s my faultā€

Not really. Like just about any other plane weather delay after a game, the team will board their plane tomorrow and go home. Tomorrow was a day off anyway and having one less day to prepare for a Sunday preseason game a week from today isnā€™t some earth-shattering shakeup.

I just mean for everyone. Not just saints.

As far as it affecting saints. Thatā€™s def a non issue.

Much like the titans playing on Friday and saints Sunday this weekend. It wonā€™t affect week 1s outcome.

I am in LA and right now it's just a light rain going on. But that can change quickly. I have been getting emergency texts regarding flood warnings. Currently cooking a pot of red beans and doing some food prep. I have plenty of water and can shelter in place for a bit.

Okayā€¦so StudioSaint from Saintsreport knows more than the county officials, state officials, League officials, stadium officials, and individual team officials along with those entitiesā€™ own weather sources who are all deciding to allow the game to be played after carefully studying the situationā€¦got it.
Alright dude. I think youā€™ve said your piece.
