N/S Tyreek Hill arrested for traffic violation by stadium in Miami on gameday (Hill played) [Reckless driving & seatbelt charges dismissed] (4 Viewers)

You know I DO understand that. But the alternative... in this case rolling up your window and refusing to comply... almost guarantees a bad out come.
It seems you’re trying to apply logic to a dynamic where both sides don’t know and fear what the ‘other side’ could do
Logic is not a good tool in such a fraught exchange

Yep I agree with that. And again I recognize the black experience is different than mine. But at the end of the day resisting guarantees a bad out come. Compliance gives you a better than average good chance at a good out come. I DO believe the vast majority of cops are not racist but the others create that mistrust.

I have a buddy that literally gets a ticket or an argument every time he gets pulled over. He hates cops. Mostly because he hates anyone that behaves in a manner that they have authority over him. He gets pissed when I get pulled over and don’t get a ticket.

When hangers pulled over its eye rolls, sarcasm etc. when I get pulled over it’s yea sir polite etc.

The main difference is attitude and behavior towards them. We are both white.

Most of my friends are cops. I am in an LE motorcycle club that allows a percentage of veterans. I have all kinds of conversations with these guys and none of them are racist.

Multi-millionaire, ultra privileged, domestic abusing, child abusing, deadbeat dad, criminal thug and his multi-millionaire, ultra privileged agent calling for working class cop to be fired and stripped of his livelihood is peak 2024.

Cop may have been right, may have been wrong, but Hill should leave all that to his lawyers, shut his mouth and play football. Not a good look.
It’s hard to ‘defend’ Hill bc he is such a piece of work, but none of his bad attributes should come into play
The laws (written and unwritten) should apply to all

And also, c’mon, the shut up and dribble nonsense should have left our vocabulary a decade ago

I’ll probably tap out soon bc I might get in trouble if I dig too deep
But I would add that the social/ethical makeup of individual police is not the issue
It’s a structural issue
The AA and many other ‘of color’ communities being overpoliced (which the data overwhelmingly acknowledges) is not bc cowboy cops feel froggy all the time, it’s bc the system was designed to do exactly what it’s doing
And until the system changes, even ‘good’ cops will be influenced to make bad choices

Telling someone to roll down their window isn't a lawful command. Also demanding someone get out of their car depends on jurisdiction. Some areas and under certain circumstances it's lawful and others it isn't. People have got to lose this idea that when a public servant tells you to do something, with attitude, it's automatically a lawful command and you must comply. People have good and lawful reason to not want to roll down their windows or exit their vehicles when dealing with police goons who have no desire whatsoever to use their de-escalation training. Your license and registration can be shown on the window and that's all they need.
Not with the dark tint his windows had. The officers wouldn't know if he was going for a weapon I don't blame them one bit for ordering him to lowering the window

Bc you and I can expect a quid pro quo - do this thing and everything will go smoothly
I hope you understand that a black man has a reasonable suspicion that even when they ‘comply’ the situation might not deescalate
Sometimes quite the opposite
So he chose to not comply at all?!?! Why not try and take your chances?

C'mon man. Is that even a RESONABLE fear in that specific stop? The police have his ID, they KNOW who he is, where he's employed, Hill told them to "just give me my tickect...I'm going to be late" and they KNOW his employer because they are specifically there to serve his employer!

Is it reasonable for the Police to believe that Tyreek Hill poses any danger to them on The Dolphins OPENNING DAY!
