That is exactly what I'd expect the US position to be. Personally, I'd like to avoid a WW3 shooting war if at all possible. The 'Ukr is losing lives' argument isn't nearly so convincing when I add in a full blown conflict with NATO vs Ru & it's allies.

Do I want them to die? Of course not. Is adding millions more troops and bullets going to help? IDK, I don't have access to the intel needed.

Russia is in no shape to fight NATO. Unless they have assurances from China that they have their back, they won’t escalate. China makes too much money from the USA. The only thing they get from Russia is oil. If they can get cheap oil from Russia and make money from the US, they won’t escalate.

I also think any red line Russia has drawn is meaningless. They are trying to wait out the election and wont do anything prior to January 20th.

The last thing Russia wants to do is have the tide turn even further and have a united USA against them. We should use this and push the boundaries really hard between now and then.

LOL had to look up Palianytsia as I'd not heard that term.

Palianytsia is a type of Ukrainian hearth-baked bread, made mostly of wheat flour in a home oven. The yeast hearth bread has a semi-circular cut across the top third of the loaf.

The word comes from Ukrainian: пали́ти, romanized: palyty, meaning "to burn" or "to smoke". This is because, when baking the bread, the raised crust can sometimes be burned.

We also have to consider a China red line that is only implied.

If we over commit to Ukr, Taiwan could pay the price. At best, advanced microprocessor production would be significantly impacted and at worst, completely destroyed before China commandeered it. Either way, it's not a good time for defense and manufacture.

just vote em out already huh EU? what in the world are you waiting for?
If there was no good reason to keep them, it'd already have been done. My guess is it allows for lines of communication.

Oh and it's not like this is particularly new. Austria's law allows for espionage so long as it isn't against Austria.

That looks like a flaring off of natural gas from a tower made for that purpose to me. It looks like it's burning under control.

That much flare off does indicate a disruption in the shipping of the gas. They have to waste it if they cannot ship it to a market.
