Ukraine (44 Viewers)

Technically even during WW2 we were "loaning" military equipment to our all. The debts were partially repaid, but quite a bit was effectively forgiven. I thought Trump might have tried something like that, because he could have just punted the football to the next admin, and concentrated on domestic issues
This statement assumes a next admin.

Dont downplay his links to Russia. Him talking with Putin prior to election. Putin announcing his willingness to deal with US on Russias own rare earth minerals and metals. Lots of moving parts here.

But as i just posted, this "deal" is merely an agreement to hammer out a deal. Its not "the deal" - But Trump/WH are attempting to sell it as "the deal". Typical Trumpian tactic. Where he creates his own reality, separate from actual reality and his sycophants buy it.
Par for Trump. When a deal can't be agreed upon, he'll say that Ukraine is not negotiating in good faith.

And if you say it over and over enough times, it becomes the truth...

My guess is there won't be a deal signed... Trump is too hard headed to accept anything that make it look as if he had to give concessions..
and Putin will not like Trumps 'guarantees of Ukraine’s security"
You're assuming that Trump will honor any "agreement" he signs. Present day history is showing that he will not.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Israel voting against a country with Jewish president and lots of Jewish residents that is being invaded by a country run by an ex kgb agent.
If reports are true, they really didnt want to but were black-balled or forced to on the condition of continuing to still receive badly-needed military, civilian aid and weapons which were vital in their recent conflict with Hamas in Gaza that lasted over a year and is still very uneasy even though there's been a shaky truce that's held for over a month now that Biden admininistration worked very hard and exhausted a lot of political and diplomatic goodwill to bring about. It also managed to significantly alienate a large section of Arab-American populations in major battleground states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota who purposely and intentionally didnt vote for Kamala last November and their turnout might've conceivably helped her win some of those states or help Dems keep or gain several House seats.

Make no mistake, Isreal's recent UN vote on Ukraine was not the one they really wanted to make but was forced to with behind-the-scenes shakedowns, implied threats, or intense diplomatic pressure applied to it.

Not when many of their jobs are gone, the price of eggs and consumer goods across the board keep rising over the next 2-3 years and wages stagnate or decline, what "deep state" are they going to be able to target and blame this time? How can they honestly with a straight face blame "obstructionist Democrats" in 2026 when GOP has controlled both Houses of Congress and have a limited role in setting policy? I'd love to know how Trump's tirade of lies and propoganda is going to have a strong hold on many of his MAGA supporters when they don't have their forking jobs anymore or their wages/salaries get slashed or get furloughed.

Maybe a few idiotic MAGA types might buy it but many of the voters and Trump supporters who attended his rallies from 2021-24 had a lot more advantages and some of them are being taken away, some have even lost their jobs and livelihoods because they didnt vote Trump into office to craft these policies.

The damage will last much longer.
True, but the same analogy also applied to past scandals or highly-unpopular wars like Watergate and Vietnam, and in the case of collective trauma, anger, and partisan finger-pointing and abject terrible ways returning Vietnam veterans were treated for nearly a decade until some people grew a conscience and realize they mistreated them or outright ignored them and in many respects, it took us a long time to get over Vietnam and in some aspects, we haven't really.

I also believe Trump's medical and cognitive/mental health isn't good or is worse then what he lets on. If you examine his physical appearance, he doesn't look good. He's fat, overweight, doesn't have the same stamina or energy he had about 10-15 years ago and some cognitive psychologists have been speculating for a couple of years now he might have the onset of Alzheimer's/dementia, which given the extreme emotional and physical stress that comes along with being POTUS, isn't likely to improve. The fact that he continues to resist releasing his private or psychological health records should tell you something right there. He doesn't look good and he looks far from being mentally or physically stable. If he doesn't end up having a stroke or heart attack over the next 2-3 years, it'll be a minor miracle.
