No. There is still no more reported than before. Still silence. Still pure speculation. Even by Glazer who did not say, "Sean told me" about any of this. Still much ado about literally nothing because nothing is what we have. Not one of these talking heads have contributed a scitilla of substance.
The only thing we know that can be considered fact is that Payton has been silent on the issue. Everything else stems from that one fact.
I don’t know what else people want to hear lol.I did listen. My ‘supposedly’ statement was in reference to reading where he’d (Glazer) been quoted as saying that Sean has considered retirement but (Sean) waffles back and forth.
This transcript reads to me that the idea of stepping away has been broached by Sean, to Jay.
"Sean (Payton) changes his mind every two seconds. We talk about it a lot. It's why I haven't reported anything because he changes his mind like every two minutes," Glazer said.
“But that’s also why I said two weeks ago on FOX NFL Sunday during the coaching carousel was that there could be a coach or two step away just because of these last two years of COVID, it’s taken its toll on people.”
Glazer said that Payton keeps going back and forth, that he was in Cabo the last couple of weeks, and that he has a meeting with owner Gayle Benson again in the early part of the week.
Regardless, it isn’t that serious to me, but I do hope he stays on.
I was okay with everything you said until the last sentence. You seem to be double talking. If the reporting is false, doesn't that make it wrong? Or am I misinterpreting and there is a difference between false reporting and being wrong? And isn't false reporting by definition fake news?Good point.
It does not mean that the reporting is wrong. It just becomes charged and it leads to a lot of false reporting.
The reporting specific facts isn't wrong, but framing those facts to build a narrative that the facts don't really support is when it becomes hyperbolic or false reporting.I was okay with everything you said until the last sentence. How is it a narrative if he’s seriously considering not coming back and coaching the Saints in 2022? That’s not a narrative. It’s a fact, reported by several reputable people, one of whom has a direct line to Payton and doesn’t sensationalize. The reporting specific facts isn't wrong, but framing those facts to build a narrative that the facts don't really support is when it becomes hyperbolic or false reporting.
Quote the source then. How is it a narrative if he’s seriously considering not coming back and coaching the Saints in 2022? That’s not a narrative. It’s a fact, reported by several reputable people, one of whom has a direct line to Payton and doesn’t sensationalize.
Jay GlazerQuote the source then.
That's not a quote.Jay Glazer
Source is Sean Payton.
If you are telling me you believe either one of them is lying, then I guess we’re just not going to see eye to eye on this.
The quotes are from Glazer’s interviews from yesterday. Feel free to listen. That's not a quote.
I did, and he never clearly said Payton told him he's seriously considering retirement. You need to quote specifically what he said, otherwise I'll assume he didn't say it. I'm not taking your word for it.The quotes are from Glazer’s interviews from yesterday. Feel free to listen.
When he says “he changes his mind every two seconds” and the question is about his coaching future, do you think he’s debating what he’s going to have for lunch?I did, and he never clearly said Payton told him he's seriously considering retirement. I'm saying that comment isn't a serious comment. Think about it. If you're changing your mind every 2 seconds, does that sound like something to worry about? If it does, then that's your prerogative. Saying he's changing his mind every 2 seconds =/= Payton stated he's seriously considering retirement. When he says “he changes his mind every two seconds” and the question is about his coaching future, do you think he’s debating what he’s going to have for lunch?
Come on, man! LOL!!
Fair enough. We clearly view this differently.I'm saying that comment isn't a serious comment. Think about it.
