Bell had demanded more than the price the team can pay. And probably over more years then the Jenkins deal will be for.Yeah would hate to lose Bell but probably can't meet his demands. I think they also have confidence in CJGJ as a possibly replacement

Am told that the Panthers starting safety tandem is expected to be Juston Burris (agreed to 2yr deal on Monday) and Tre Boston (3yrs) - and that was team’s targeted plan entering free agency. On Burris, staff pretty high on him and goes w Rhule wanting to find up-and-comers.
I'd be fine with the move assuming that Jenkins makes less than Bell. If he doesn't...this screams a Byrd-Jenkins repeat...trading a young, ascending player for an aging player, likely to be on the decline. It's all good as long as Bell makes more.
HarperHave we ever re-signed a safety after his rookie deal? Jenkins, KennyV, now Von... I can't think of one that we brought back.
The FO takes a lot of heat for letting Jenkins and Hicks walk but both guys admitted that they decided to start trying after leaving NOLA. Hard to put that on the FO.
Not doubting you whatsoever, but would love to read the quotes/interviews where they admitted to this.
Being let go by the team that drafted me was challenging. I felt like I had fallen short of the expectations of my coaches, teammates, fans, and most importantly myself! It was one of the first meaningful “Failures” that I’ve been through, and it caused me to struggle with doubt in my own abilities and gifts. Those same doubts, however, turned into motivation and helped propel me to the height of my career. What I had perceived as a failure, God use to build me up.
