I'm a long time member, but I seldom post. My better judgement tells me that I shouldn't indulge the troll, but just for fun, Shizzle, who do you think is the greatest Saints QB of all time, and why?

I'll get my popcorn ready.

Montana, still, but if Brady wins another, then its his hands-down.

Hurries is a better stat. Brees the first half of last season did NOT look comfortable at all. Brees just happens to be good at getting rid of the ball quickly...but let's not pretend that the low sack percentage is due to great OL play. It's not. That's fantasy.

I didn't see anyone arguing great OL play. The consensus here is that it was pretty terrible. The first part of the season, Brees was hurt. He injured his oblique. And I had a similar injury a year ago (I didn't tear it though) and I could not get any power on a throw at all. So I can understand his discomfort then.

But anyway the whole point was that a couple people seem to make up statistics to try to prove that Brees was the problem. And those people keep getting proven wrong.

I thought he looked fine in the Arizona game, a very good defense. It wasn't like a couple of other seasons where he started out with some abdominal strain.

The shoulder injury screwed him up for a while (Strief cringe) , as it would have just about any other QB.

Otherwise yes, agreed.

Not one bit! When he was on, with us, that boy was on and we knew that we were good when he dropped back. 2006-2011, man, words can't describe it. 2012 sigh, actually 2010, it started, and we all know what it is...the pick-6s ints, fumbles, batted balls... and well the reason SD wanted to oust him. in 2013 he had a 06-11 year, but we knew the seasons would start declining with what we were seeing, which they have.

Aright, I guess your answer was yes. But you shouldn't let it hurt you, people know already.

2015 was better statistically than 2012 and 2014 and tied his career-low 11 picks. Which really isn't bad. Keep making up stats to try to prove your highly incorrect point. I'll keep shootin em down!

Sorry...I misread the intent of the post. I agree. Brees wasn't the problem last year (except when injured of course). The OL and receiving corp were much bigger parts of the problem. I think that both need to be upgraded unless our defense takes a significant step forward for us to have a real chance of competing this year.

I can agree with that. I think we desperately need at least one OG. And while I don't think a WR is a "must" I think we could definitely use another weapon. But not so much that we have to take one at #12

Misread you bro. Best Saints QB of all time is Brees, c'mon now. But, that doesn't put him off-limits to criticism, not in the least.

All three seasons were bombed years. Lots of throwing when it didn't count and lots of TDs when it meant nothing. Just stats padding. We kept Brees in games 3 TDs down, knowing we weren't going to ever catch-up (should have been giving the backups some playing time, bc they could have flourished during those lack defensive settings), but it helped him build this false resume' you seem so high on. Keep putting it up and I will keep shining the light on it.

No one is saying he is off limits to criticism. Let's face it. Sometimes Brees will hold on to the ball too long, or, when the play breaks down he'll sometimes try too hard to make something out of nothing. That's what great QBs do. They take some risks. They put teams on their shoulders and sometimes they try too hard. Those are legitimate criticisms. You just take it way too far.

No, legitimate criticisms is when you can come in here and say that we were ineffective against good teams and most teams when the game was really competitive, and that it wasn't just the defense. That he does throw too many picks and many times on our end of the field, that one hit and he fumblesin the pocket, and that he cant see over the line, so we have max batted balls...

That's criticsm on Brees, and the things you mentioned are also added. It makes folks cringe, so thanks for bringing this conversation full circle and actually agreeing that his play makes folks cringe. You got last shot, I have to go...will check back.

I totally agree that he is not off limits in terms of criticism. He does make costly mistakes from time to time by trying to force things too much that lead to interceptions and occasionally he will make bad decisions. But to say he is one of the top 3 cringe-worthy starters on the roster is asinine.

Wouldn't you agree that he probably wouldn't force things as much and take gambles that lead to costly interceptions and sacks if we had a better defense that played complementary football?

Brees is the least of our problems, he is still performing on an elite level.

Name one good team that he was "ineffective against"

And then name one QB who makes zero mistakes.

My point was that there are many other players on our team that are cringe-worthy more so than Drew. For God's sake you even said Browner helped relieve some worry that the opposing QB would tear us up. You said Browner HELPED :idunno::idunno: and yet Brees is what made you nervous lol. Utter lunacy
