What happens to Reggie when Mike Bell returns? (3 Viewers)

Let me state the obvious for you:

Heath Evans couldn't pound it in from 1 yard out and drew brees had two attempts to gain 1 yard......do we bench Brees because he is 0-2 on third and fourth down?

You fail to mention (naturally) that on 3rd and 2 PT picked up 8 yards on our first drive and from 1 yard out he scored when they knew we were running it up only 7.

The 4th quarter 4th and inches was a horrible call, a quick QB sneak would have picked up the yardage, still mad at Payton for that call that could have cost us the game.

well obviously you are biased cause you don't mention how Reggie kept drives alive with his running in the 2nd quarter, only to have PT return and be stopped for losses.

my problem with you Reggie haters, is you only pick out things that you want and choose that to criticize, like Reggie's fumble. he was running hard and fighting for extra yards and the guy put his helemet right ont he ball (same as Pierre's fumble) but nobody points to the fact that at the point that Reggie fumbled the ball, he was having the most success of anybody in the game running the ball.

look i cheer for Pierre and note that he has played well the past 2 weeks, but i also note that the Offensive line has dominated the game in the 2nd halfs of games, and he and Bell have benefitted from that more so than Reggie. in fact Reggie has had more success running the ball in the first half then any back on our team.

Umm, no. Sorry. I see people get blasted for bringing up a question about Bush and not even taking sides in the argument. While I agree that people are overly judgmental when it comes to this polarizing player, there is something there to debate about his value at the present time.

Debate is debate, when it's a debate. This isn't anymore. It's "I'm right and you're wrong and I have more football smarts than you and my pee-pee is bigger and that's just that." And it's the same thing over, and over and over and over and over until quite a few people around here are just sick and tired of it.

I propose Andrus makes a new board just for these discussions so the rest of us don't have to wade through these threads every day to find some that are actually useful.

Still don't think he's being used right....don't think he's ever been used right...will continue to not be used right...hope he gets cut..

I agree......not with the cut part though. But, I do think we went from using him too much the past two years, to not enough now. The part of me that's a Saints fan doesn't want to see him with another team. The part of me that's a Bush fan thinks he needs a change of scenery.

Reggie is the 3rd down back and continued to get in as such even after the fumble.

So to answer your question, nothing will happen to him.

Yeah i think this has been cleared up by Payton....SEVERAL TIMES. The competitions is between Bell and Pierre, Reggie gets his touches EVERY GAME and he will continue to get them...Punt Returns, 7-8 Handoffs, and a 4-5 passes a game...which is about I dont know 15-20 touches a game. That preserves his health and allows them to spread the ball around more.

So.....to keep from wasting threads on Bush........Reggie is doing fine and he still makes me Hold my Breath everytime he touches the ball.....and induces a migraine when he fumbles...but reggie is reggie.

The Majority of you should Stop Knitpicking....no one said anything when Deuce had that 80yd run and fumbled@the goaline...if anyone remembers that. Everyone just talked about how good he did..minus the fumble

STOP HATING ON REGGIE AND LET HIM DO HIS THING....FUMBLES AND ALL

It's a forum, we discuss things here.
we cant come up with anything positive to say after starting 4-0:idunno:half of you reggie haters were'nt even born when the saints lost 14-15 games a year for 10-15 years in a row..saints are 4-0 :idunno: starting to think haters are'nt fans
two damn fumble yesterday an reggie's was recovered by the Jets..i'm 100% sure if Drew doesnt cover PT fumble yesterday there's no thread on SR about PT fumble

Hopefully the coaches keep him on the bench where he belongs.

Bell and Thomas fight for carries while Reggie's role stays untouched. Payton has said it himself.

RB Pierre Thomas' return to the Saints lineup is still uncertain. But coach Sean Payton said the spilt in snaps would occur more between Thomas and Mike Bell when Thomas returns. Payton said there's a clear plan for Reggie Bush's snaps, though, as Bush is used in a more exotic fashion.

Is a guy who joined in Jun 09 calling out a guy who joined in Sep 09 for bandwagoning? :smilielol:

Really? Is this real? Just because I was not on Saintsreport.com im a bandwagoner? Thats hellarious. I forgot that you had to be a member of this site your whole life to be a REAL saints fan. haha, you are pathetic.

You put the ball in the hands of the most talented runner on the field and that is Pierre and its not even a competition. Im not saying Bell can't carry us, cause i think he could, but Pierre is special guys. He weaves through defenders like an all pro. The only one negative thing against him is breakaway speed, but he's got plenty enough to get it done. On that long screen pass, could Reggie or Bell have made that run?? The simple answer is no. I actually shocked there is still a debate on this board.

I think their would have been some fuss about it. the difference is that thomas has fumbled twice in his college/nfl career, 1 of them being on a play that he took a helmet on his wrist and broke his wrist. I havent watched the replay yet but I questioned if he had even had possession of the ball from my seat in the dome. so what it boils down to is that thomas rarely fumbles, so he gets a pass until this proves to be some kind of common occurence.
