What if they interview Brady and his condition for taking the job is canning Loomis? (6 Viewers)

I’m sorry but this doesn’t make sense. You should dig deeper into what happened in Carolina.
What happened because it seems he couldn't fix Darnold like they did in Minnesota. Allen got Daboll the Giant's job.

He. He put up the best offense in college history. He then made an offense of 2nd and 3rd stringers who played all season long minus a couple of positions an average offense in Carolina. He then took over a top 5 QB with a struggling offense and made the QB debatedly MVP and a top 5 offense with average talent at WR, RB, TE and OLine.

Coen has had only 1 really good year as OC, and Glenn has never even put together a top 15 defense as DC.

And if Mickey Mouse could run a successful offense with Allen, why did the previous OC get fired and why was Allen a turnover machine under him? You can’t possibly look at Allen’s play last year compared to this year and think Brady had little to nothing to do with it.

Also there isn’t a QB anywhere in the world that wouldn’t jump at the idea of playing underneath Brady after how much Burrow and Allen have praised him for their development and successes.

You’re talking about one guy, who 2 of the top 4 QBs in the NFL claim he either developed them or elevated them in their play greatly. And that’s not even including the career year Bridgewater had underneath him.
all we need is Burrow or Allen and we’ll be fine. Otherwise Brady has looked like an average at best offensive play caller without any leadership experience. Sign me up!

As of today, he has not been more successful than Glenn. Now, if they make it to the Super Bowl, yes. You forget the Lions were in the championship last year.

Glenn isn’t responsible for the team. Glenn can’t be contributed to one of the best offenses in the NFL that allowed the Lions to reach the Super Bowl while never putting up a top 15 defense, just like Brady can’t be blamed for a defense that allows over 30 pts by an offense while making a top 10 offense.

Did Minnesota fix Darnold? We did just watched him tank the last game of the season and the playoff game under one of the best offensive coaches in the NFL.

He tanked because of pressure. Rams disguised their blitzes and Darnold is one of the worst QBs in the NFL at performing under pressure.

In Carolina, there were a lot of problems and pointing to just one is technically incorrect. But it starts with Rhule and trickles down to also one of the worst offensive lines ever. There was also a super odd practice philosophy that Rhule supposedly invoked that left a lot of people scratching their heads like no practicing red zone.

But the OLine for example, is one of the catalysts that led to the McCaffery trade the start of the following season. Rhule really messed up that team somehow worse then Dennis Allen did to the saints

The last time I checked, the Bills HC comes from the defensive side of the ball. Josh was Josh before Brady. That's a hole you cannot ignore, and I'm not even going to get into whether he can be a leader of men. At least Payton coached up Romo. Who did Brady coach up that was unproven?

That's the best he's played in his career and better than what Brady could do with him. Based on his performance this season, he'll probably get a low-end starting quarterback contract.

What if MY condition for hiring ANYBODY is canning Loomis?
"Let's see ... your proposal to provide vending-machine services on Airline Drive looks great! Let's just sign the contract and get going."

"Hang on -- I've drafted an amendment we need to add to the contract." (Hands file folder across desk)

(Peruses amendment)

"Seriously? You can't keep us in Cokes and Little Debbies if Loomis is in the building?"

"Nope!"

Burrow. Considering Bridgewater had a career year in Brady

Also, Allen went from averaging 16 ints a season in 23, 22, and 21 and only had 6 this year and credits Joe Brady. That’s also a hole you cannot ignore. Burrow also credits Joe Brady to his growth.

I’ll believe what those two’s opinions are on Brady over yours any day and every day.

This was a question that popped into my head as I was watching today's podcasts.

We've already seen this happen a couple of times in this cycle.

It's clear that Brady is the guy they're waiting on. If he were their guy, they could have hired McCarthy a week ago.

What if Brady wants the job, but doesn't want Loomis?
What if he wants the team to guarantee that Loomis will be GM for at least the next 10 years ?

Darnold has had seven offensive coordinators over seven seasons (two in 2021, Joe Brady and Jeff Nixon).

Now, is Vikings OC Wes Phillips a "QB whisperer", who can turn chicken-mess into chicken salad? All of Darnold's improvement came in 2024?

Or did the game come to Darnold over time? And in the meantime, he learned at least something from every coach he worked with?

It won't show in Carolina's Brady year stats (2021) ... but in 2022, Darnold's Yards per Attempt went up a whole two yards and his passer rating went up 21 points. His INT% dropped by 50%.

In Carolina's Joe Brady year, Darnold started off hot for four weeks, including spanking the Saints in week 2. His early 2021 stats looked like his solid 2022 stats -- 8-something yards per attempt (which is very strong) and a passer rating in the mid-90s. Dallas racked up five sacks against Darnold in Wk 4 2021 and then the bottom fell out. Darnold's passer rating the rest of the 2021 season was in the mid-50s. He eventually went on IR with a scapula injury.

Excuse-making speculation: Cam Newton was still on the 2021 Panthers. Newton could've credibly been seen as a threat to Darnold's starting job. I wonder if Darnold hid an injury, maybe suffered against Dallas? His stats really took a nose dive after the Dallas game ... the difference is stark.

Don't think there is a prospective coach out there right now who could rationally demand anything like this, especially a 1st time HCing prospect.....

That said, I wouldn't mind if it happened....

You really dove into it. Your answer about what happened in Dallas is a multitude of things I believe. It’s very possible an injury occured. But I do KNOW is that Dallas exposed a massive hole in the OLine and from then on Carolina became one of the most leaky offensive lines in the NFL and was a massive catalyst for the McCaffery trade that ended up occurring. It was rumored McCaffery didn’t want to run behind that OLine anymore and was just done in Carolina.

And as we saw in this playoff game a few weeks ago when the Rams kept disguising their blitz extremely well, Darnold became deer in the headlights. It seems as if despite his growth, and Kevin O’Connell or Joe Brady, Darnold stinks against pressure.

And in 2022, when you cite Darnalds growth the new coach happened completely revamp the OLine minus RT.

You keep talking about a career year, is 15 TD’s and 11 INT’s really something to brag about on an OC’s resume? Compared to the career year O’Connell was able to get out of Darnold?

And which Carolina season had an average offense, the one that ranked 24th in points or the one that ranked 29th? Even the offense that got PC fired was 10th in points.

Meh. His first year with Bridgewater they were 21st ranked offense all together. Right there enough to be considered average. And he did it with an entire roster of guys who couldn’t crack starting on nearly any other team (except Moore) like I said. There’s nothing remotely appropriate about looking at that lack of talent that Rhule assembled and saying Brady did a bad job with it. It’s a bigger wonder why they weren’t last in offense.

And let’s also not pretend their only offensive star didn’t go out for the season in the first few games.
