What if they interview Brady and his condition for taking the job is canning Loomis? (5 Viewers)

This was a question that popped into my head as I was watching today's podcasts.

We've already seen this happen a couple of times in this cycle.

It's clear that Brady is the guy they're waiting on. If he were their guy, they could have hired McCarthy a week ago.

What if Brady wants the job, but doesn't want Loomis?

We have not seen this happen in this cycle. Nobody has demanded that a GM be fired for them to take the job. Trent Baalke who has been well known as a terrible GM essentially since he got the job, was fired after Coen turned down the job. Coen didn't demand that he be fired. That's usually what coaches do when they don't want to work with a GM, they turn down the job.

The Jets didn't have a GM so they couldn't fire one based on a demand from Glenn.

The thing that scares me about Brady is the success he's had is when he's been given a loaded roster.
Rod Walker had a great comment on today's Saints Insiders podcast.

"Your OC is only as good as your Quarterback."

We don't have a Josh Allen walking through the door of the Saints facility anytime soon.

Just food for thought about Brady's success in Buffalo, it might not translate to New Orleans.

OK, the California Roll thread did make me chuckle. This one only made me sigh with frustration. Loomis is our GM and that's obviously not going to change anytime soon. Can't we just realize it is what it is, deal with it and keep trying to move on from all the Loomis bashing, subtle or not? Jerrah isn't going to try and bring McCarthy back and that's the only other HC opening at this point. So, what does it hurt to wait to be able to interview Brady, even if it's just to pick his brain, or maybe hope he might feel like taking over as OC somewhere else should the Bills lose this weekend? Or maybe Brady blows the front office away and decides he was worth waiting for. But at any rate, no job candidate is going to come in and tell the top boss (and no, Rita isn't going to handle the process with the thought of potentially getting rid of Loomis), so why even speculate to the point of being ridiculous? It's all starting to get tiring.

Yep. Basically what I was saying. Just don't know

The thing that scares me about Brady is the success he's had is when he's been given a loaded roster. When he didn't have one, Carolina, it didn't go well. If we pick him I will pull for him to do well, but I just not sure he's ready to be a HC. I hope I'm wrong if we go that route. I also believe if McCarthy gets the job, Carr stays. If Brady gets it, Carr is gone. Just my 2 cents that doesn't mean didley.

Yes indeed, the Carolina gig killed Joe Brady's career, it was that bad. Joe Brady failed David Tepper and Matt Rhule.

What could the Buffalo Bills have been thinking when less than 60 days after Brady was fired in Carolina, they hired him?

Joe Brady, one of the greatest comeback stories in NFL history.

Remember how good of a OC Eric Beienemy allegedly was for haivng Patrick Mahommes? He didn't even run the KC passing game and fans thought he was HC material. The QB is the key. You don't need a superstar, but having someone at least better than average is likely crucial. Then, after you have a QB, he'd better have weapons, a running game to take the pressure off and an offensive line. The Saints need help in all of those areas as well.

With a All Pro QB who also made Brian Daboll look good. And I'm not saying he wouldn't work. Just pointed out something that scares me a little. But if we go that route I'm good with it
