I think there are at least half a dozen more names, every region had a different name for it

I remember an article saying that the explosion of Subway locations led to most of the country calling them subs

Yeah, I got tired of typing.

For me, it's a sub and always been a sub; but I think statewide in PA, it would be a hoagie.

Po Boys are supposed to be on french bread, so it's not that, grinders are toasted and crunchy, Hero's are a NY thing and generally are fillings other than italian meats. I never quite understood what is different between a Sub and a Hoagie, both are on Italian bread, but I think a sub can be hot or cold but a hoagie is Italian bread, meat, and cheese and hoagies are never a hot sandwich.

I'd call it a hoagie, but I dont think anyone calling it a sub would technically be wrong.

In the land of muffalettas and poboys, I call that a mistake.
Honestly, this is really why I made the poll. I just thought it'd be interesting to hear the different regional responses.

There is also something called a ham boat but that is toasted. Now, I have fond, fond memories of eating my beloved ham boats and subs in PA; but I do love me a muffaletta and it's kinda similar to a sub. No way could I have included that as a choice in my poll, though.

Anyone that calls that a PoBoy needs to be stripped of all financial ability so they can know the true meaning of being a Po Boy.

I would say they lose their right to vote .... but I don't want to get political.

Other: Italian tacos made in China. I’d try it, but I won’t like it.

Well, that's, I guess, regional alright.
