What is your most favorite non playoff moment in SAINT history. (1 Viewer)

Great thread. My favorite moment hasnt happened yet. Its gonna be when Drew passes Peyton for all time passing yards.
I hope its in the dome against the failcons

Deuces run with his helmet off against the Bucs, where he was still trucking people down the field.

Darren Sharper's Pick six at the beginning of the 3rd quarter against Miami where we were getting beat 10-24. That play sparked a fire and we came back and won.

Gleason's block is hard to beat, but three games in 2009 deserve honorable mention. The comeback in Miami, the blowout against the Pats, and that ridiculous play Meachem made in Washington.

I believe it would be fair to say; Those FOUR eventful plays would easily be on everyone’s list and well worthy of it~!

You could make honorable mention of hiring Coach Payton and the signing of Drew Bree’s as Game Changing events as well. The play of Pierre Thomas over his span with us, the play of a few key players who have led to recreating the concept of SAINTS FOOTBALL in New Orleans ALL add up to how we feel now and I’m hoping the signing of Adrian Peterson will be among those amazing moves which have brought about such a turn-around for us fans and the whole idea and personality of what SAINTS FOOTBALL has become.

BTW: ALL of these seasons from going Head Coach-less and beyond may just now be getting it right and straight. The signing of Adrian and his decision to come play for us says quite a LOT and more should and will be made of this as he proves he’s healthy and a healthy Adrian Peterson is something to behold, no doubt, but to see him healthy and in our beloved Black and Gold just seems as if it’s not this year, it’s sure to be next in which we hoist The Lombardi once again. Mark it down, I said it and will put $1K to back up my words next month when I get to Vegas.

The most interesting thing about your list to me personally, is that I witnessed each one of those eventful moments live except for Deuce’s helmet-less RUN~! With me living in So. Cal. since ’84 and making to those specific games , even the one in Miami were just plain luck and I’m grateful for it because being in the crowd for their reaction and joining in was just overwhelming~!

For me it has to be NOVEMBER 29 1987 . After all the years of losing we were finally a winner. I have to confess I cried when time expired. For all the newer fans SAINTS 20 STEELERS 16 our 9'th win in our first winning season. We finished 12-3 in a strike shortened season. If you guys think its bad now after three 7-9 seasons you all should have been around in the 60's,70's & 80's. It was tough being a DIEHARD SAINTS FAN. Well that's my trip down memory lane thanks for listening.

I was the first person to realize that Bellicheck had pulled Brady during our beat down of the Pats in 09. I started yelling "They quit. The freaking quit" for a solid 30 seconds before the rest of our area caught on.

That was my favorite moment of all time simply because the class of the league folded up their tent and went home because we were beating them so badly they knew they were better of just folding.

That

That game was Oct. 27, 1974. It was the second home game I ever missed as I had my appendix removed the day before, but my dad went to the game from the hospital and returned to my bedside afterward. I got to listen to the game on the radio with my aunt. Saints won.

He must have been a really big saints fan :hihi:

John Carney kicking the field goal to beat the panthers week 1 after Katrina, reopening of the Dome, Deuce breaking the Saints franchise record for yards, Brees breaking marino's record against atlanta, The comeback in miami, beating the pats, Meachem stealing the ball, ugh there's so many more lol.

Don't hurt your neck
Be snippy if u want, but (a) the thread title asked for non-playoff moments, and (b) considering 06 was the only season in the 2000s that we made the playoffs under Payton minus the SB season......it seems pretty thoughtless and lazy to have to assign a 2006-2008 window as to when it happened.

Interesting commentary at the end about WHY Carney missed the extra point.

:gosaints:

.

I always thought Haslett blew it by not bringing the XP team back to the sidelines during the review.

Then, let them do their regular routine once play resumed.

But, yeah, not holding the ball per the direction of Carney is not good!

You deserve at least 1 Green Thumb for EACH of your selections!

Ok

Just remembering the BENSON BOOGIE does anyone remember which game it was he first did it?

I know this is playoffs but when Reggie took the wheel route for a long TD in Chicago I thought we had a chance to come back and win and go to the Super Bowl.

Non-playoffs is easy. Gleason.
